no viewfindeeeeeeerrrggghhhh
pev70: The liberal progressive agenda can not advance without its plethora of lies and deceptions. Indoctrination and brainwashing the vulnerable by using deceiving tactics is at its roots.
Altering images to advance the agenda is just one example of many.
hehe you saw that on fox news didnt you ? ;)
ybizzle: Why would you not take the X100 over this? Half the price and much better looking!
i would buy a used m8 instead
Michael Berg: Is it just me or do many of the photos look underexposed?
no, there is a guy complaining that its over exposed, and a guy that says they have a grey cast, ask him, he posted 10comments after you ...
MarceloSalup: As a professional photographer I'm astounded that anyone would consider that camera seriously; no viewfinder, no interchangeable lenses... just an over-priced P&S
As a lifetime advertising and marketing expert, I'm glad the X-2 exists; it validats the triumph of branding over objective metrics; it is the greatest case history in the world (maybe the 2nd, the 1st one are the little leicas that are rebranded Lumixes). I absolutely love the existence of the X2
who cares for a built in viewfinder on a fixed focal lenght ? ^^
jimi00: Is it me or are most of these samples over-exposed by 1/3 stop?
its you
IrishhAndy: If it looks right it is right.
yes and if you start comparing all the photos that "look right" to you, and start analysing WHY they look right, you will be pleasantly surprized. ;)
robonrome: Excellent and inspiring piece, thank you very much. I need to read and absorb more such views and more importantly get out there and shoot instead of obsessing about gear. The quote about a fender not turning one into a Hendrix pretty much sums I up.
@smallcams .. talking abou dumbing down he ? ;)
rmbackus: ' Photography is an art, so there are no rules. '
you cant break rules if you dont know them, its not meant as a law, its a rule like a rule of thumb.
edbowman: The so called rules of composition should never have been invented, They are poison to the imagination. If you have to think about composition when taking a picture then you are truly f*****. The greatest work are produced by the unconscious mind before thought ruins the whole thing, pray for accidents and keep looking at the works of great artists and their genius will seep through into your mind and will work for you.Never trust pedants.
nooot true haha
it just tells everybody that you think youre talented and dont need those rules. but if you would investigate a bit why those rules exist and why we use them you would want to delete your post ;)
gl2k: Did I miss something or ...
Why not wait a few days more and add the studio test samples ?
Or is this another (pre)review that comes in small doses ?
Correct me if I'm wrong.
@gl2k:
youre wrong
dont type everything down that comes to your mind, especially not in forums, its annoying
Shamael: Seriously, when does Nikon starts thinking about furnishing a new kit lens for that sensor. This 18-55 is a bit crappy and starts taking dust. A new, better kit lens could be one more reason for old customers to change to a new body
there is an important rule: never buy a camera that has a lens in the package. not only because those lenses could be crap, but most importantly, if they have to give you a lens to a camera body the body itself was made for customers that have no clue about lenses, so they simply wont buy a camera where a part is "missing"
better invest in pro gear and skip two generations than buy consumergear and rebuy the same plastic over and over again
justmeMN: In the mean time, with the exception of adding some autofocus pixels, the sensor of the Canon T4i/650D is three years old. Nikon seems to be moving faster than Canon.
a touchscreen on an slr, cute ^^
and i thought the cool thing on a dslr is that, because of the ovf, it runs almost in standby mode, even when turned on ,until the moment you press the shutter, then saves the pic and goes back to standby again.
edit: sorry i was talking about batterylife
Retzius: The sensor better pretty damn impressive to even consider upgrading from the D5100 considering the cost difference...
why on earth would someone upgrade from a 5100 to a 5200 ??
AT LEAST skip a generation. its an slr, its made for a lifetime^^ why would you buy in the same class anyway?
people are so used to replace perfectly working gear nowadays i dont get it anymore ^^
Reilly Diefenbach: The best DX camera in the world so far? Probably.
nope, the d300s is the best dx cam
a77 is no dslr if it has an oled evf, if youre interested in dslrs you for sure dont want an evf ^^
Elaka Farmor: Gulp!
@venture: comparing tools to fashion ... very well hahaha
Cy Cheze: Humps, bumps, knobs, grips, wrinkles.
Blood hounds, bulldogs, old trucks, and most of their owners aren't beauties either, but many people are fond of them nonetheless.
The camera could have displayed quite nicely in coarse, chapped hands with plenty of callus, scars, and cracked nails.
Putting appearances aside, the real questions should be what the V2 offers that one can't find on a GF5 m4/3 type camera with a larger sensor, which costs less and is no bigger, or a smaller RX100 with the same sensor, which also costs a bit less.
i think it doesnt matter if you shoot nikon or not. every single lens you own would behave completely different.
iam a nikon shooter myself, but what makes my camera big are the lenses, so why would i pick a smaller camera and attach the same sized lenses that i carry in the very same bag that i would carry when taking my d700 with me?
i think when considering small cameras to acompany dslrs it makes no sense to even think about mixing them with the dslr system, because it automatically makes them gearthursty :)
Panasonicus: I was a Nikon user for decades but find this camera series puzzling. Instead, I opted for a Panasonic G3 which is not much larger but with a much larger sensor and a huge array of available moderate and high end optics from Panasonic/Leica/Olympus. Most of which is MIJ whereas Nikon seem to be drifting much more toward Made in China. Am I prejudiced in favour of MIJ. Absolutely. Sorry but Nikon have lost and not regained a very long standing customer with this over-priced effort.
you opted for the g3 before this camera was even available?
sometimes i think most of the people here just want to tell everybody what gear they use, no matter if it makes sense or not
JEROME NOLAS: They can do it because they can! They are Nikon, uncrushable, undestroyable, unsinkable! Nobody in the right mind would create this, or maybe it's a camera for dumb Frankenstein....
nikon corp is 1/10th the size of canon, they just make good products thats why they can do what they do
