Thanks for the comments. Having had the FZ 35 and FZ 150 I too have been reluctant to go higher than 400 because of noise...but it seems the LX7 is somewhat better.

I too have skipped on the FZ200, couldnt resist a discounted LX7 instead and keeping my FZ150.If there is ever F2.8 FZ w manual zoom I will get it.
