About me:

Owner of several Yashica, Contax, Minolta, Olympus, Pentax, Nikon and Canon film SLRs over the years (lots of them thanks to being dirt cheap on eBay). Pentax K10D and K5, Nikon D7100. Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Kodak and Kyocera p&s digis. Sony mini DVD camcorder. Enjoy them all.

  • There goes my dream job...(one of them at least!).

  • Pretty good performance from the S-1, and the Cathedral is quite the place to see what one (camera) can do with a host of lighting challenges.:-)
  • At the lower range of the zoom (up to about 7x) it seems to lock pretty quickly, but on that outing with the light dull (even in the arboretum where these were taken) above that range it had lots ...
  • Created discussions Two from the FZ 151
Straight from the camera, two of the better images.  Many (perhaps due to the dull steel gray sky etc. that day) all needed one click correction to add more snap and contrast.  Given the price ...
  • Jim and Chuie: Well, I did go out today with the FZ; first impressions were favorable. Not that many pictures taken, but lots of on-off, and use of flash in quite cool weather and the battery ...
  • I'd like to get the S-1 with the freebie lens, but it will have to wait till next payday.  Need a new TV, and just got a Kodak FZ-151 (arrived today).  The FZ is charging up now, perhaps tomorrow ...
  • $326 for the white model with kit lens now on Amazon (about 8 or so of them); $347 for the black model with kit lens and a "freebie" 400mm lens.  I'd bite, but it would be delivered next week when ...
  • ..still waiting for the FZ-151's delivery.  UPS tracking says they delivered to my local post office this morning, Postal Service does final delivery. Of course, when I ordered it I don't think I ...
  • Replied in I went to Sears!
Unfortunately, they did not have the models out on display to check out.  And they did not have the model I was hunting for in stock, the FZ 151, a 16 mp 15X that starts at 24mm equivalent.  So, ...
  • Sears also seems to have models from other companies of old (their names..); Bell and Howell for instance.  No Yashica or Contax though...:-(
  • Created discussions Time to go to Sears
Was looking around today (I started with Sony), and what to my wandering eyes should be discovered?  JK Imaging Kodak branded products are available in my local Sears store, the Astro and Friendly ...
  • Happy anniversary!;-)
  • The white one with kit lens is now $370 or so on Amazon, down about $40 from last I noticed. Black model is still higher, but the two lens white kit is down to about $500. About a month from now, I ...
  • Replied in My S1 images
    I second that motion!:-)
  • Time to park the E-PL1 for good?

  • I rather like #s 5 and 6. A by-gone era; but thankfully we still have some reminders such as these locomotives that are still operating.

  • I looked at them again...the 12-45mm lens was on the unit for most of my faves.  Made me want to book a week's holiday in London (in similar weather, just beautiful). :-)
  • Several of the images from the gallery looked very pleasing to me.  Waiting for the review; I have an aging Oly m4/3 that I may upgrade in about six months.
  • If it were a $30 coupon for either the download, or hard disks from X vendors, I'd bite.  Prefer discs just in case a hard drive crashes (I've had two do that....).
  • Commented on 1939: England in Color (part 2) article

I enjoyed this series even more than part 1. #24 of Eldred appears to have been taken using a mirror for a self portrait (or another camera); a TLR is on the table.
