Why would having overlap be a cause for concern? I consider having lots of overlap to be a good thing - in certain situations when photo opportunities happen quickly, with a big overlap one just...

Can you view the pictures on the card using the rear screen of the camera? If so, I would try a different card reader to transfer the pictures to the computer. If not, I would try a different card.

Not quite - the poster who said that "AF-D" lenses have motors was mistaken.
Both "AF-D" and "AF" lenses rely on the focus motor in the camera body. The "D" in "AF-D" simply indicates that...

Thought I covered that in my previous post.
No AF-D lens has a built-in focus motor, so it's not Nikon who is confusing things.
-
The "AF" lenses should be fine on a D7000 - just avoid the D3x00 and D5x00 models, on which "AF" lenses will not AF, as those cameras have no focus motors. "AF-S" lenses, with built-in focus...

It's not the first time Nikon changed a number to denote a "fix": in 2007 Nikon released a somewhat flawed high-end enthusiast compact, the P5000, which was followed only 6 months later with the...

Sorry, no experience with these cards, but did you do as indicated in the footnote of the pdf version of the compatibility chart?:

I think there might be a D400 eventually, but at the bottom end of the D800, D700, D600 line, ie. equivalent to the place held by the D40 in the D90/80/70/60/50/40 DX line. Still need a D900 and a...

Any lens can only be at least as good with more MPs than with less.

It does have some compromises, but it's not nearly as bad as those who criticize it (and perhaps never actually used it) would have you believe.
Some of happypoppeye's 18-200 shots, like those in...

If the budget is limited, such as the case of the OP, that just might be a factor for some ;-)

As the OP said, "I have a Tamron55-200 but this lens doesnt have motor inside. So AF-S is not compatiable."

That's too bad Recuva didn't work for you. I just tested it to restore some NEF files that were deleted some time ago, and was able to recover 69 of them.
At any rate, good to hear CardRecovery...

I have no experience with CardRecovery (and very little with recovery programs in general), but have you tried any of the reportedly very good free programs, like Recuva and...

Ahh... sorry, I know nothing about Mac's, but isn't there some sort of file explorer or finder built into the operating system?
You might get some help in the Mac Talk forum, if you have no luck here.

I don't use LR, but when I converted a couple of NEF's to DNG using "Adobe DNG Converter", the DNG was created, and the NEF remained in it's original folder. Conversion programs should never...
