SantaFeBill: What does the 'D.R.P.'under 'Leica' stand for?
It stands for Deutsches Reichspatent and was changed to D.B.R Deutsches Bundespatent..."Federal German Patent" after the fall of the Third Reich
Great now the new Nokia phones will be the most boring phone out there, good job.
Abuelo Paul: Having owned my A77 for 18months, and fired off almost 30000 frames, I won't be upgrading yet. There appear to be very few benefits in this markII version. My main criticisms of the A77 are: Poor high ISO resultsConstant problems with sensor spots after changing lensesPoor after sales service ( lost the rubber eyepiece and can't get a replacement)But on the plus side:Easy to usesuperb resultsEVF previews the shotMinolta glass compatibilityAll in all why change when I'm happy with what I've got. I had the EOS 500D before.
I'm sure if you contact Sony in EU and order the part they will be willing to help
steelhead3: I guess the reviewer was not familiar with the Sony lens line up "(there's no real portrait prime"; what is the 50 1.8? The ZA Emont 55 1.8 is also available.
E-mount has the Sony 35mm F1.8 OSS = 52mm or the Zeiss 32mm F1.8 Touit = 48mm, they would work just fine as a portrait prime, IMO not to mention the Sony 50mm F1.8 OSS = 75mm or the new Zeiss 50mm F2.8 Touit =75mm
The eyepiece part is available for like $10 at B&H http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/850521-REG/Sony_FDA_EP12_FDA_EP12_Eyepiece_Cup_for.htmlChange lenses when it's not windy
BigPhoto: Broken record... We don't like the clickless control wheel. So we're going to beat that drum over and over again and call it distancing and inert. The nature of highly subjective reviews.
If this camera had fixed the clickless control wheel then Richard would have liked two Sony Cameras this summer and we could not handle that ;) I was shocked when he said he enjoyed using the Sony a6000
Are they not already 10% owned by the Chinese company FOXCONN?
Like it, now I can follow all the trolls
Babka08: I imagine Canon GX team have an uncomfortable pit in their stomach right now. The fast lens is an amazing achievement. The slow long end of the MKI has always been a bane. And an evf... This is the perfect fit between a cell phone and a dslr.
Does Samsung pay you by every line of BS you spew? in-case you have not clued in this is a Sony RX100 III impressions.
Ooo look Professor BS, another Samesong fanboy/ employee, just as pathetic as the other
@RAW, Never fail the Samesong troll show's up again, hope they pay you good money to be pathetic.
viking79: Pop up viewfinder is nice, but how does one hold onto that camera? It looks like it has no comfortable way to hold it.
viking79, You are just jealous Samesong did not copy this... "well yet".You can buy a stick on grip for the front, they have been available for the RX100 for years now.http://store.sony.ca/attachment-grip-zid31-AGR1/cat-31-catid-All-RX100?_t=pfm%3Dproduct_cross_sell%26pfmvalue%3D31-AGR1
AngryCorgi: Samsung has become the biggest "me too" company on the planet. Let's release an identical camera to every other one except we'll design the exterior "scheme" to mimic Fujifilm's X series or an old film camera. That will differentiate it.
@ThePhilips,.. Samesong "fanbois" infiltrated DPR.
People, get a clue: Sony NEX was the first "RANGEFINDER" Style APS-C mirrorless system.
Plastic fantastic = Samsung premium.
Black Box: So he takes a mediocre studio photo and slaps it onto a mediocre landscape one, heavily photoshops the result, and sells it.
"I'm an artist"? I don't think so.
Easy to be armchair critics sitting in your mothers basement eating Cheetos and putting down people you will never see face to face
Prognathous: Why the hell do they need to come up with a new lens mount? Enhancing M-mount to support AF or using the royalty-free Sony E-mount would have been much better than introducing yet another mount. We already have too many mounts, it's time to consolidate not add.
So how is Japanese lenses 100% German?, funny how fast people discount how good Sony/ Zeiss lenses are but jump to try and justify Cosina Co.Ltd who makes lenses for Zeiss/Sony and Panasonic/Leica are 100% Leica. One thing for certain "RAW" nobody but you claims Samsung makes lenses.
Fazal Majid: For the naysayers: you are not the target market. The people who buy this are those who want true Leica lens quality or brand image (not a rebadged Panasonic), but find the M rangefinder system too difficult to use. It will sell like pancakes, although arguably the X Vario is a better choice for that audience.
Correction, Leicasonic lens quality.
Boerseuntjie: For the price of the body you can buy a Sony A6000 with Zeiss 16-70mm F4 lensand it comes with a viewfinder build in...LOLhttp://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1038726-REG/sony_alpha_a6000_mirrorless_digital.html
@Bhima78... Blah, Blah, Blah, since when is the EM-1 an APS-C camera?
munro harrap: The lenses look like the FUJI lenses to me, and the camera looks like a modified NEX-7 Sony. Who does the sensor I wonder.
It wont bounce!, but break, no doubt.
Sony sensor with Leicasonic lenses
But they need a new mount for these Leicasonic lenses.....LOL
