Hi folks,
I've had the 650D for a couple of months now, but the weather over here was mostly not photography friendly lately, or I was busy otherwise. However, yesterday was quite a nice day:...

Well, Andy, it gets even worse, because your ZS is called TZ in Europe, and this TZ stands for "Traveller Zoom". I don't know about the other ones, but FZ does certainly NOT mean "Fixed Zoom",...

I was tempted to write "No, it's worse", but that might be a bit too harsh. However, I think the EVF on the SX50 is not really usable, and the same goes for the G15 (which is not an electronic VF,...

Hi folks,
I hope you don't mind, but, having seen all those cardinal threads, I just had to do it ... mea culpa!! ;-)
Cardinal is a beer brand over here, but I don't know if the founder of that...

Very nice picture, Stephen ... the Force was indeed with you on this one ... ;-)

Hi Rod,
Same here: what is a DSLR good for, when you (mostly) leave it at home, because it's too heavy/bulky to carry around? At least, that's what I was thinking, and seeing the overall good...

You're very welcome, Jon!
Of course, everybody must make his own mind about this, so your decision might easily differ from mine. Whatever you decide: enjoy taking pictures.
Cheers,

Hi bluemoonman,
I understand exactly what you're going through, because I was in the same dilemma. After having used the SX50 for 3 months now (and also having the G15 as a DSLR substitute), I...

Hi folks,Since the "spring" threads are somewhat exploding in this forum, I thought I'd start a counter offensive ... ;-)We (Switzerland, near Zurich) had some kind of blizzard last night, and...

Today, it was about minus 6 degrees Celcius (about 21 Fahrenheit), but the sun was shining beautifully, so I took my SX50 for a stroll in the snow. The following 2 pictures are intended to show...

Thanks for your comment, Vision, especially about "perspective can have many facets", which is very true. Strangely, when I imported the picture on my computer, it WAS in portrait mode, so I really...

I've had the SX50 for almost 3 weeks now, and today, it saw the sun for the first time. Before that, it was either cloudy, foggy, or I was not able to go outside. However, today, there was some sun,...

I've also bought the original Canon lens hood, and when I unpacked it, I was almost shocked at how small it was ... and what I had to pay for it: 36 Swiss Francs (which is about USD 40.00 and EUR...
