This is similar to their SXRD reflective LCD technology where the circuitry is placed behind the LCD.
It made a huge difference in producing images it will probably be a big deal in capturing them as well.
FastFisher: I will never buy from Canon. Period.
Canon admits to and fixes what others would call nit-picky things. That is a reason to buy from them, not to stay away from them.
JWest: These pictures really are amazing. But is it just me, or are there a lot of "jaggies" in some of them? It's especially noticeable on the hard lines of the shuttle - almost like the pictures have been aggressively compressed.
morganb, this has nothing to do with compression, or the fact that they are jpegs, or the fact that they're hosted on a website.
Like hc44 said, this is because of the algorithm used to resize. Doesn't even look linear, looks to be point filtering.
