same here and after trying these two carmeras. I can't feel any difference in their af speed... but the shutter lag is much smaller in xm1(maybe the new processor runs faster)...but i still go for ...

i'm sure that 100s can make it because i owned x100 before.......

Luckily sold my x100 will get the new version back

welcome Vertigon, the main reason purchasing the lens is the 1m closest focus and the weight! it's much more than i expected, especially the VR3.... i'm thinking to sell my old but still sharp...
