Can someone just post "good" ISO 3200, 6400, 12800, and 25600 shots from a wedding they've done with the D800?
That will put this to rest in my own mind and would be very much appreciated.
So far...

Agreed.
If you want macro, you have no choice but to get the 105 between that and the 85.

Just dropped in from the Nikon forum to see if there was anything more interesting going on in here. Thanks for the laugh guys! :D

I'll tell you once it arrives. I just bought it after seeing your link!

Hey Aaron: I'm in LA too. B&H all the way.

+1 on the 50 1.4g. Had mine returned from Nikon after a time with my camera. At a distance especially, photos are soft as hell.

Despite all the figures, D4 files look to my eye as though they possess a superior tonal and dynamic range. I should post a couple of example shots - just took a few pictures for a friend and the...

That shot with the two wine glasses is lovely. :)
I love the guy on the far right in the group shots. He looks almost normal in the "funny faces" version, and positively catatonic in the normal...

Funny - I just saw the exchange on this topic above!!
Hehehe.

Just to stand up for the OP - his usage of "all but" was spot on. It does not mean "everything but" - which itself has no meaning at all as a set phrase in the English language.

Agreed - I'd "walkaround" with my 70-200 all day if I could. Beautiful piece of glass.

Yeah. Although, judging by the descriptions on these repair reports, I'm not convinced they actually adjusted lenses "to the camera." I think they simply checked each item (including the cameras)...

Oh: and hey replaced the zoom grips on my older lenses, replaced internal parts that were wearing, completely fixed my 70-200's atrocious VR and generally kicked ass. Happy camper!T.

Sent in both my D4 and D800 with two 50s, a 70-200, 24-70, and 85. Autofocus is now absolutely pristine! Yay Nikon!Just sayin...:).

The lovely OOF background and subtle colors rather arouse you? Oh dear Lord...
:)

Hi Robyn,Sorry for the delayed response: I'm travelling and writing to you from Dusseldorf Airport! Basically, yes: 3.5 or higher and yes, higher ISO itself helps freeze action and thereby sharpen...

I'm doing this with my 24-70 2.8 too (not only my telephoto lenses), and finding it really helps.

I'll be contrarian and disagree. I say D3s all the way: I've been using my D4 a lot recently and must say the lack of Nikon's traditional AF mode switch on the back of the camera is a pain in the...

Can I just throw my hat into the ring and share some recent experiences on precisely this front - both with my D4 and D800. Good focus at short(ish) distances with telephoto lenses and moving or...

Thanks Mike, I believe that was my understanding. Awesome.
