$1300 is relative. This lens is clearly competing against Canon and Nikon's respective 24-70mm lenses, which are priced at $2000. Thus, relatively speaking, $1300 is cheap. (Plus it has vibration...

Placed 68th in the challenge. Taken in the Petrified Forest National Park. My love of the desert plus the vibrant colors of the layers of rock make this not only my favorite photograph during a recent trip westward, but also my favorite spot.

this is my very favorite photograph, among all the ones in the dpreview challenges that i have seen. don't be upset you didn't win. just be grateful you were able to capture such a beautiful moment.

Placed 64th in the challenge. I was shooting my cat in low light, when suddenly it decided to bolt down the stairs. Being already at an ISO of 6400 and a max aperture of 2.8, I was forced to shoot at 1/25th of a second. The cat bolted so fast that instinctively I decided to follow it, creating lots of camera shake and a blurry shot - one I nearly deleted. The more and more I look back on this shot, the more and more I like it.

Placed 192nd in the challenge. From the streets of Santa Fe, I wanted to capture some candid street photography. As I was practicing my shooting from the hip technique, I decided to try a few on myself while walking past some shops.
