LVPhoto1: Look out Nikon & Canon; I have been seriously monitoring the progress of Sony DSLR Technology ;)
Canon has a ridiculous line up of - 7 - SEVEN - DSLR and no mirrorless...
They should trimm it down to 4 and make 3 mirrorless.
webgeek: The pre-production images from this camera is really bad. I am totally frustrated about this camera. Thinking that this will be my camera for the next 4 years. I think the combinations of these hurts the IQ.
1) Too many pixels (24mp) cramped in an APS-C sensor.
2) 30% les light reaching the sensor because of SLT design
3) Bad firmware engineer
I hope my purchase of Carl Zeiss lens will compensate and provide the adequate IQ.
stop whinging and buy something else!
Prognathous: Why would anyone buy a Samsung over competition mirrorless systems? The NX200 is very likely to have inferior IQ compared to Sony (as did all Samsung APS-C cameras to date), it doesn't have the small lens lineup and system maturity of m43, and it doesn't have the forward thinking and superb user interface of Ricoh's GXR. In terms of sales all Samsung NX have been a failure, so why are they still trying?
Prog.
because Samsung can.
even if it is a loss. in a few years maybe it wont.
but samsung can afford to lose some cash on the way...
jeffharris: What is this, the NEX-6?
Apple is suing Samsung for copying both the iPhone and iPad, now they're copying Sony. Maybe their lawyers needed something to do.
This is "innovation" in the Microsoft tradition.
just remember that if in 1997 bill Gates wouldnt have saved Apple, today the bitten apple woudnt exist...
Boomz: I'm disappointed. It would have been fantastic for me if the sensor wasn't so small. I was already to buy one. They had a chance to fill that void, they missed it. I would have been happy even if it was a 4/3rd size and not an APS-C. But 1/15" just won't cut it.
it would be this,
it would be that,
apsc it's too big,
this one it's too small,
buy the x100 and stop whinging!or go and build your own camera!
I've never seen so many comments for a camera...
KACTET: These lenses are NOT compatible with GF1. This is just stupid.
thats why i am waiting for a canon,
at least they are not like sony, olympus and panasonic,
make 2 cameras and
change system,
make 2 cameras and
change system,
make 2 cameras and
change system...
olyflyer: Maybe it is time for me to have a serious look at this camera... I liked the NEX ever since the NEX3, but the lack of built in VF stopped me from showing a serious interest, but now with this new camera it is different... The only thing I don't like (from what I read so far) is that stupid Sony specific flash shoe. Why can't Sony use the industry standard established a very long time ago is behind my comprehension.
Anyway... Excellent work Sony and good luck with the sales.
Looking forward to the full review.
tompabes2: maybe because 90% of DSLR users out there have a nikon or a canon and NOT a metz flash and a Minolta. as simple as that.
And how many years be4 they accepted mp3 that was already a standard and sd that was already a standard?
Richt2000: Not a fan of EVFs in m4/3 or NEX,so EVFs in DSLRs? Ha ha, Forget it.
I had a canon 500D and I bet an evf in 2011 CAN"T be worst than a pentamirror!!!
RacingManiac: Why SD card.....I like almost everything about this aside from the SD card...
what would you like to use a floppy disk???
why writing BS comments...
rocklobster: Sony innovation leading the way - comeon CANIKON, you are being left behind, where is your morrorless solution?
I have a Canon DSLR and I am waiting too... even if I'd be kinda skeptical in using the 70-200 f2.8 II usm with a camera like this...

for the same reason they didnt adopt mp3 and thay tried to push their ATRAC, for the same reason they used memory stick instead of sd cards and so on...
The Scurvy Dog of PR: I, for one, will be buying the A65 when it comes out. It is exactly the digital camera I have 'dreamed' of, for the last 20 years. A hard prism is over-rated. Thank You Sony!
ehy man have you ever tried canon and Nikon kit lenses? thay are just the same crap... I have canon and the 18-55 was terrible!
justmeMN: A DSLR price, without the DSLR performance.
In addition, screwing up default noise reduction and default sharpening is pretty lame, for lack of a better term.
Totally agree with Federico,
who buys an ipad needs it only because he thinks he is cool and to stay on Facebook 24/7 and play games,
if I need to do work or study or run PS or LR I have to buy a real laptop
Just Having Fun: Why not offer Passive glasses like LG and others. It works great at local IMAX.
Why pay so much extra?
that's why they'll join together to make a standard, to charge you $200 for a pair of glasses.

THERE IS NO FUTURE FOR 3D IF THERE ARE GLASSES INVOLVED.
as simple as that.
theoschela: awaiting an update so it officially will support cameras released after the 7D! This codec pack does not officially support the 60D, G12, or D7000 to name a few.
Nevertheless I was able to view my 60D CR2 files in the Live Photo Gallery, albeit sluggish as all heck. Cannot be viewed in Windows Explorer though...
what are you saying ??? the 60D I bought 4 months ago and there were already codecs at that time!! and works perfect
lex200: Why no dng support!
who cares! CR2 is enough!
Smitty2k1: does not support canon rebel t3i/600d
??? was already supported by an old codec, what r u saying???
I have Canon Cameras and Micrisoft already had codecs for Win 7, good stuff anyway
