You can't beat the 5D3 IQ over the 7D but the 7D can hold it's ground. To me both bodies have their place and jobs. Good luck as I'm sure you will make the correct decision.

You don't need to be a CPS member in the US. I am a CPS member in Canada and I get far better and faster service at the NJ facility as a non CPS member and Canon US does not ship back to Canada. No...

A flash meter like the Sekonic L-358 is a very good tool. If too pricy use the white towel method.

I agree. If you are absolutely sure that you have any shake, via the camera or tripod under control those test shots look soft to me. Sturdy tripod, mirror lock up and pausing a few seconds before...

I have both. If I'm birding or shooting shooting sports then my 7D comes out. All other the 5D3. When I shoot the occasional wedding the WA lenses go on the 5D and the 70-200 on the 7D. I find my...

Welcome. I have the 5D3, the same 24-70 and 70- 200. Also a 7D owner. That lens is now my workhorse/landscape lens.
24-70 on 5D3 at 24mm and 2.8. Click on view original size, not the image itself.

Sorry. I just went on B&H and the 600EX- RT is selling for fir $499. I own 3 and I wish I had paid that much for them. The 580 EXII has been discontinued so again I would question the seller for...
-
First off is the seller reputable? Second are you sure it is an RT unit? I have seen several people burned on this one. Canon does make a 600EX - non RT flash and some places advertise RT when it...

You can control the background or ambient using your shutter speed.

There will be times where just a speed light or 2...

I cut all my own gels. I just made a cardboard template and then used it as a guide. Just need sharp scissors. I put the original gels back in the flash box. I buy gels in sheets at a local theatre...

Just to mention Canon RT will only work with Canon RT. 600 and/or STE3 only. Older canon flashes or 3rd party (of that feature is available) will only work optical mode. There are 3rd party...

Well for outdoor situations you could easily get away with a single flash and a reflector. A soft box for the flash would be helpful. I have 3 600's and an STE3 for indoor. You can work with 2...

In all honesty I'm a little disappointed with that combo myself. Not bad but not as crisp as I had hoped for. If you look at the MTF charts the 70-200 II should blow my 100L Macro IS away at 100mm...

Yeah I find the WB is off as well for both shots.

Oh yeah. For indoor flash I usually shoot about 1600 to 3200 ISO but will go to 6,400 if I need to. I shot like that with my 5D2. Have yet to test out 12,800 with my 5D3.

Well that might be it. Sometimes it is the simple things.

Oh I see. Just in case your camera metering modes have nothing to do with the flash. They are just metering ambient light. The flash has not happened so the cameras light meter cannot predict flash...
