  • Submitted a challenge entry Clearly Happy
I took this candid portrait of an old lady during our eyeglasses-giving project. Political activities aside, it's just really fulfilling to see old people laugh when you least expect them to. In this case, the old woman was just overjoyed by the fact that she can actually read clearly with her new eyeglasses.

  • Commented on Canon EOS 6D Hands-on Preview preview

Well, think about it, Canon may have intentionally underspecced this FF "entry-level" camera to compensate it by releasing new L-lenses; such as the long-rumored 35L II and 135L II a few months after.

Thanks, and congratulations by the way for your dancing bear shot, haha.

  • Submitted a challenge entry Fly Among The Fluff
Took this 3:1 macro shot a few days ago. A fly was resting in a towel surface. It was actually a lucky shot since it flew away as soon as I was finished taking the shot. However, it would've been nicer if I captured the shot shortly before it took off, just like a macro action shot, haha.

This is a 1:1 macro shot I did of a fairly large Huntsman Spider that resided in our living room in Baguio City, Philippines. It's roughly 6 inches across and runs fast like all hell had just broke loose. I never killed it though, I just relocated it outside using our trusty broomstick. Though macrophotographing is really a nice (wait, I mean creepy) experience; it was just about 5 inches away from my face when I photographed it, haha.

This was inspired by Lotso, the main antagonist of Toy Story 3; the evil bear who smells of strawberries, haha. I really want to achieve that "cute but badass" effect in this image, so I literally spent two hours just to position this teddy bear.

  • Submitted a challenge entry Split Decision
Just one of the handful street photos I've captured few weeks ago. I initially planned to focus on the girl, but I forgot to set my focus point in the center, so it focused on the surrounding background instead. Coincidentally there was the man sitting on the column to the left which was brought into focus. All of it happened in a split second, and I kinda like the resulting image actually.

  • Submitted a challenge entry Stridal Wave
I took this series of shots at the local mall skating rink. This was inspired by Henri Cartier-Bresson's photos, with his aesthetic (and somewhat accidental) use of motion blur and his concept of the decisive moment on some of his photos. Eadweard Muybridge comes into mind too for the pseudo-image sequence. Ain't really the most showy move in ice skating but I like the sequence and the silhouette-like lighting of the model because of her all-black outfit contrasting the white ice background.

  • Submitted a challenge entry A Common Goal
I captured this shot during a basketball activity in Barangay Pugadlawin, Las Piñas City. It was a really close game, with the two opposing teams racking up points in the 3-point line during the 4th quarter, and with one team only winning by one point. I was really unprepared both technique and equipment-wise for this kind of shooting; it was my first time doing basketball photography, and yes, I've been hit by the ball for two times in a row, haha. Nevertheless, it was a really nice and thrilling experience, especially if you could connect the thrill of taking the shot with the thrill of witnessing a really close game.
