  • This particular Zeiss lens is probably the best for this kind of effect. It is not just soft but has a 3D effect not obtainable with other lenses. Check out some sample images from people who have...

  • For photographers who love a dreamy effect, the best lens to use is the Zeiss ZE/ZF 85mm f/1.4. The price may be not so cheap (about $1000) but the rendition is excellent, soft focus with a 3D...

    @ BrianWilton

You are absolutely right. As a general usage camera I would prefer the 7DII anytime. It is so much more versatile. One cannot go wrong having it with you. It is a no nonsense DSLR.

  • Commented on Canon EOS 7D Mark II Review preview

After careful consideration, I have decided and bought a 7DII to use for general photography. It is fast and won't disappoint in most situation. I actually prefer it over my Canon 5D Mk2 as it has...

  • Commented on Canon PowerShot G7 X Review preview

Which camera one would buy depends on what your priorities are. The Sony RX100 II has an option for an external flash wherelse the Canon doesn't. The G7X has a better lens aperture for low light....

  • You are not alone especially for a small sensor "compact". I thought my 5 years old G12 is big.

  • The Oly Stylus 1 is difinitely a better choice than the X30. Its longer constant f/2.8 zoom is very versatile and useful for street photography. I will choose it over the X30.

You are absolutely right. I did the same and have no regrets. The Ricoh GR is so much smaller and nicer to handle when you go shooting. The good thing is it does not look like a serious camera...

  • The Magnum series of old from Lewepro were excellent. Good that you bought one previously. The finish and workmanship those days were so much better. They use ballistic nylon. Tamrac is one of...

  • Lowepro used to make excellent camera bags about 15-20 years ago but no more. I still remember buying my first Lewepro camera bag in 1998 which was made with ballistic nylon. Now, they seem to use...

  • You are absolutely right. I would do the same.

A normal backpack with a small camera bag inside is definitely better. One get double protection and it does not scream "camera inside" when walking...

  • If this camera can only perform reasonably well at ISO100, then one might as well stay with a P&S camera like the Canon G12. I think the G12 can perform reasonably well up to ISO400 or even...

Yes, the noise in the sky is almost like a p&s camera with a 1/2.5 sensor. Just too unacceptable for an APSC sensor camera. My Lumix GM1 does better.
