Thanks but I still need to improve and learn the A99.

Thank you very much, Amateur, for the info and the suggestions. I will take them into consideration next Saturday when I go to another Sony meetup soccer photo shoot. I'm sure the weather will not...

Concentration and Keep you eyes on the ball are outstanding on all counts.
Impressive.

Recently I went to a Sony meetup photo shoot at a soccer match. Sony provided the A99 and the 70-400 lens. The fact that it was very cold that afternoon prevented me from experimenting different...

Thank you, Alex, for the info. I feel much better now. :)
I had searched using the wrong words.
Merci,

Sorry, I saw the 7000 forum but did not notice the letter D. I have posted again my question in the Nikon Talk. Apologies.

Is there a way to turn off the automatic display of the last photo taken on the P7100? I did not find any info in the manual, the menu or on line. Thank you.

Hi Bill, the main reason I would get the 7D would be for birds and fast action.I used to have two 40D for the same reason you mentioned. If I got the 7D, I would keep the 40D, at least for a...

I agree with you: I downloaded the manual and borrowed a 7D guide book at the library, I started reading them and I felt the pain already! Smile.I think that's is the option I am going to take....

I agree with you, John, that I should wait and see what Canon will offer. In the meantime, I will as you say, take more pictures with my 40D. Thank you for your comments.I checked your website. I...

I never had much luck with AI servo on the 40D. I am thinking of trying it out on a 7D I could borrow.

With the 40D I have a hard time taking pictures of birds in flight. Maybe it's my clumsiness.

Two cameras are better than one? I am not so sure. Tired of changing lenses all the time, a few years ago, I bought a second 40D. Lugging them is no fun either. It’s a choice one has to make...

mailman88: your three options make sense. I am inclined towards options 2 and 3. Wait and see is probably best at this moment for me. Thanks.

Thank you, Jonathan, for your input. Looking at the manual and guides on the 7D, it sure is more complicated than the 40D. The last time I upgraded was from a 30D to a 40D. It was an easy decision...

Thank you, TANware, for your input. I agree with your comments and the fact that upgrading to the 7D or a camera implies other expenses.I will take more time to make up my mind, and probably wait...

Thank you, Steven, for your thorough comparison list between the 3 cameras.I am most attracted to the 7D. I don’t shoot videos, and although FF is tempting, the added weight and the loss of crop...
