I`ve yet to see anything at any ISO from the HS50 which matches the XS1 - neither the lens or sensor are up to it (and I don`t like the colour I`ve been seeing compared to the XS1 or the HS10/20/30...

That`s a faulty lens - the early ones suffered and it gets fixed along with the ORBs - Paul Till has shown that the XS1`s long end is as sharp as an S100FS or S6500 if the lens isn`t...

It`s got a better sensor too (try it in RAW - it Rocks even at high ISOs for a pinhead and has good DR) - I`d love that sensor in a HS30 sized fuji (though with a better quality lens and Canon IS )...

I`d look into this first as the XS1 is a very worthy step up from the HS series in both sensor and lens quality - either get a new one (which is likely to be OK - they`re £375 new) so has to be OK...

If this is the case then I stand corrected - it`s amazing that it A:- doesn`t vigette more than it does at the wide end which is minimal for such as design - in RAW it`s about a 26mm FOV and you...

I got the EOS-M because it gives me a pocket sized emergency backup for my work rig , doubles up as a very compact APS-C camera with a top prime on of 35mm FOV (the 22mm)  but if it Became illegal...

The G15 is merely an update of the G1-G12 line, an excellent hi-end compact camera with a larger compact camera sensor in  ........... the G1X is like an APS-C mirrorless with top notch ergonomics...

Again, you`d lose F2.8 , but from what I saw, the FZ200 wasn`t amazingly sharp at F2.8 anyway and is rather noisy , both negating the aperture a bit - the IS is better than the HS30, the XS1 has...

Hardly suprising it was ages ago and everyone was concentrating on lens improvements, differences in processing and Daves Colour bleed issue at the time . you can see the colour differences even...

I`ve had one since they landed in Feb 2012 and it`s been a total winner for work and play, it replaced the Fuji X100 in my work rig as a silent shooter for auditoriums, religious events etc as well...

I wish you`d STOP posting this misinformation - Moving a lens forward away from the imager plane makes macro Photography EASIER - hence why Extension tubes and bellows exist and for imagers a lot...

The IQ is astounding Russ, the lens is of superb quality and the RAW output is excellent.
