JDThomas: As a bird lover I find it highly offensive that DPReview posted that 2nd photo.

How can they have the audacity to make that image viewable to the public knowing full well that at least 87.6% of "normal" human beings are adamantly against the death of innocent little birdies?

This is nothing short of promoting AVICIDE and I won't stand for it! I demand this post be taken down!

Shame on you Barney Britton for condoning birdie-bashing on a photography website!

is this sarcasm?

SunnyFlorida: He, he, he, Nikon changed the SB-N7 hot shoe to force users to buy 2 of the same flash, (1 for the Nikon 1-series + 1 for the D-SLR's) Incompatability = Profits

That is so true!!

How come this pentax does not have a silver award? It received the same score as the Olympus TG2?

happypoppeye: Good work DPR ...and man, these posters on here have no notion of personal opinion or one mans trash is another man's treasure.

Those that use m43 complain about it, those that don't want one for their system...

i was just about to post that I wish Nikon F mount will make one like this.. but with electronic contacts.. infinite focus/large depth of field :-)

..although I also have this lens/cap for my E-P3.. fun to use :-)

I am a nikon DSLR user, but I never liked the NIkon 18-55 kit lens it looks ugly.. this canon lens looks better, aesthetically of course.. we are not talking about the IQ output etc..

I would not mind using a kit lens if it was this good looking..simple..and balanced looking..

Gesture: This is how good and how affordable non-exotic lenses should be. Nikon and Sony also have some affordable prime lenses in the 35mm - 50mm range.. Before zooms were all the rage, the standard lens that came with the camera was always of high quality and useful. That 80 percent with the 50mm equivalent are clearly past, however.

i want a nikon mount equivalent :-) I wish I wish :-)

If only this D5200 had that AF motor so that I can use my old AF nikon Lenses..
and a CLS/built in flash as commander for other nikon flashes..

it would be perfect..

In a way I just want my Nikon D90--smaller, like this D5200, with a flipping LCD and 24MP :-)

oselimg: I know the headline says "for Canon DSLR's" but I'll have to ask. Is the software compatible with G15 if it isn't why not? since G15 is a very capable camera as compacts go.

or for my G12 and SX50 as well :-)

johnparas11zenfoliodotcom: if this had a direct red video record button.. then I will really want it.. (aside from better jpeg output).. so maybe the X30 next year.. so i guess I iwll just enjoy my Canon G12 still.. no need to "upgrade" yet ;-)

note: the G12 does not have the direct red video button as well.. and g15 ..meh.. I am tired of the design of the G series.. so time to look somewhere else ;-)

..of course owning a camera.. the aesthetic look, the handling, and other variables count.. and yes no perfect camera .. always compromises in what we want.. :-)

yep.. maybe a firmware update..
although th ewishing for a direct video button is just for convenience.. for example.. when in dark school hall/gym.. for school performances.. I just want to press the video right away instead of fumbling for the dial.. and no I do not want to bring a separate video cam :-)
