akjos: At this point... who cares really. I bought original M with 18-55 and 22 and it turned out to be the biggest photo gear mistake i ever made. Camera had been sitting in the drawer over a year after i only used it twice. Should have sold it long time ago.
The canon files just fall apart way to quickly compared to nikon and sony. Plus very bad dynamic range.
and considering you can get a6000 for less or even mint used A7 for about same... that will be hard to sell , canon.

I have had and used many cameras. Canon files are bar none the worst as far as holding up to any post processing.
Im not saying its a bad camera... if one wants to shoot jpgs ale leave them as they come out of camera, that is fine. Otherwise no thanks.
I had nex 5n in the past and that was much nicer also have sony rx100 (1) and J5 now. Not even comparing it to dslrs.
But it is a bargain for what is its now ( the first one) Only thing i like a lot about the M was the 22mm pancake. That was awesome little lens.
Yea... i probably dont know how to use the camera. oh well.
LOL

Well that would be prettty cool... sometimes focus is just a hair off like slightly misfocused eyes ruining otherwise perfect photo. Exciting times...

This REALLY takes the magic out of actual photography... Im sure Im not the only one feeling this way .
Capturing perfect photo in perfect moment - that is real photography one can be proud of if getting THE shot.
This....This is bs...5 yo can push a button a thats it .

Interesting and cool camera but...
There is time when small is just too small crimping ergonimics and controls... Any ILC will always be too big , well thick , to be really pocketable. Hence it kinda defeats the purpose of making the body this tiny. When you put this or gx6 or similar in any pocket you wont feel the body size but the bulge of the protruding lens no matter how small or pancake the size... When you talking large jacket pockets or just maybe cargo pocket it may fit but itll get in the way.
Looks neat but for truly take anywhere camera ill take my rx100 ... If i took a camera with intention to actually shoot something slightly larger camera doesnt get in the way , this stuck in the pocket for that what if moment does...

I wish that for ONCE nikon actually updated
The small body in terms of pentax k30... Give
me second dial , nicer thumb grip in the back
And maybe af motor and THAT will be real upgrade!
Its shame anything less then pro body from
Nikon sucks ergonomically...

Activatedfx: I like Snapseed, but the biggest Con for me is that there is no way to save custom "presets". Every photo has to be processed from scratch.

Yes forgot that... Together with undo and zoom.

photo perzon: I was able to use it right away. It is simple and easy. I tried Aperture. Photoshop, Lightroom and could not get the hang of them. Snapseed gives you zone control that is easy.

Photoshop , i understand . Took me weeks to learn even the basics. Aperture can be little confusing , but lightroom ?? Cmon man take few minutes to watch some great turorials by Matt Kloskowski and youll see how really simple it is. I hardly participated in forums lately but as i remember ... Id you spend SO much money and effort trying just about every cam out there you should really stop and focus some of that on mastering photo editing. It makes a huge difference! Just a thought...

I use it as main editing ap on iphone . For what it is its awesome. I used every nik product with photoshop when i had pro gear and time for real photography. Now i dont have neither so im always on the road and every now abd then snap away with iphone. I wish the added just a little more features like better vignette control tint feature to wb tool , and more options to selective adjusting points like expanded option for separate colors ,sharpening and structure adjustment. But still , dont hesitate to get it for either platform you wont be disappointed.

akjos: Wow, its all nice , BUT, STILL no usb or sd card slot?? really? Im on the road ALL the time and despite what cell phone service providers make you believe , in LOT of places i have very questionable mobile internet connection, unless im close to bigger cities... I used mb pro 13" for 10 months now every day, mostly for email, skype, browsing, occasional photoshop and especially watching movies to kill some time.... With inability to connect external 1 TB HD or at least being able to pop in high capacity SD card, its pretty much useless to me. I waited and waited and hoped apple would listen and at least gave up SOME on extremely proprietary solution giving us at least darn usb port. I guess its too much to ask for. Im almost kind of happy to soon ditch my MBpro ( always a pc user anyways ) and firing up a loaded 17" asus ROG beast. WHile i enjoyed extensive time with my MBpro ,dont think ill miss apple much ...

Camera kit does exactly that, connects a CAMERA . While there might me some external HD's that this kit will read , it doesnt support it natively , and therefore it will always have questionable reliability if one gets it to work at all. I dont really have time and money to deal with something as stupid as plain old ubs port support is... If someone in retail store actually showed me it works , id be interested, otherwise, im not playing beta tester for apple.

On Canon announces EOS 5D Mark III 22MP full-frame DSLR article (488 comments in total)

Well, sucks to be broke right about now.... looks like canon finally abandoned the MP race. I think 22 mp is more then enough even for some decent cropping.
While i used to be long time nikon user, this finally looks interesting, especially AF system. Many nikonians brag about af system, and while probably better then archaic 9 point on older canon models, there was still lot to be desired ( d300, D700..., D3 series are probably little better)
As a nikon fan this is the camera id buy if i had the cash and actually wanted to lug around backpack full of glass. For now, m43 will do ,lol

Direct link | Posted on Mar 2, 2012 at 22:25 UTC as 40th comment

Dpreview misses some vital points. I did have nex 5n extensively, and while IQ may be SLIGHTLY better in high iso, the bulk of lenses plus lack of AF lenses period is what makes m43 stand out. Also i played with gf3 ( which suppose to slower then this GX1 )in best buy today, and i was extremely impressed by AF speed. The most atrocious thing on nex was low light AF performance. Id pick this camera ( and ill do so once i get tax refund) over nex or even new pens ( tried those too ) any day., Im excited, finally dslr quality that fits in the pocket ( with 14, 20, or 14-42x). Even with 100-300 it fits in extremely small shoulder bag. Awesome...

Whats up with protruding strap mounts in really bad place on all olympus models? Dont they realize that handling is important? Just look at how neat the panasonic has those. I absolutely hate when big metal eye is poking me inside my palm when holding the camera. bummer.....
