It looks very nice. Velvia, I presume? What scanner did you use?
-
I agree, but I don't really see the point in dividing users into "Panasonic" and "Olympus" camps, because many have equipment from both brands. I, personally, am quite brand-agnostic and use...
-
This is not really impressive as I duplicated this result with a simple "sharpen" command in Gimp. Also, you can't get more information than you put in, meaning that you can't create detail from...

There's the agenda you keep talking about: you are desperately in love with Panasonic, and such desperate love is oh so blind.
Go light a candle on your Panasonic altar.
-
I have no agenda whatsoever, I'm completely neutral. If anything, I have a grudge against Olympus for screwing 4/3 owners.
Panasonic is just bad, that's all there is to it. They don't stand behind...

I washed E1 14-54 combo like that, too. :)

It's because Panasonic made a completely deceptive/fraudulent claim about weather resistance of their lens, and they are unwilling to put their claim to any kind of test, unlike Olympus, who...
-
You are completely wrong. The lens *was* advertised as weatherproof. It was exposed to weather. It wasn't dropped into the ocean. Weatherproof lenses are supposed to be immune to rain. Panasonic...

They can advertise whatever they want, but their credibility is in thin supply, if any. Olympus, however, is second to none, as far as weather sealing goes.

I love the canyon shots, and the whole place looks wonderful.

Curvature equals a thicker device. While it might by technically feasible to produce a device with a curved screen, I don't think such a device would make a whole lot of sense. After all, we used...
-
Of course I do that, along with other simple precautions. It's not completely an accident that I didn't have any water-related problems while shooting in very humid and rainy conditions.
But...
-
This is exactly the opposite of what I do. I normally shoot for an hour with camera dripping with water, I occasionally wipe the front element with something and continue shooting. I didn't buy the...
-
A huge amount of my photography is done in fog, rain or splash risk, and having camera in ziplock is not conductive to bringing images home.
I expect normal, non-weather-sealed equipment to handle...

They trained us well, to pay increasingly more money for increasingly less quality.

I had a Zuiko 15-54mm f/2.8-3-5, which expands when zooming, I used it in all sorts of bad weather situations including sea splash on both camera and lens (both were white from salt afterwards and...

People in Panasonic seem to have registered the price point at which Olympus manages to sell lenses but never bothered to replicate the level of build quality.
-
This is very sad for a lens at that price point. I never had those problems even with lenses that aren't advertised as weatherproof, and I routinely use E-PL1 with its kit lens during rain.
-
I know exactly how you feel. The entire place is very spooky, not only because of its history but because of a very realistic possibility of finding some crazy people getting stoned there.
