  • If you value action and/or reach in only good light this camera is pretty awesome. I'd love one.

  • If you value action and/or reach albeit in only good light this camera is pretty awesome. I'd love one.

  • Did you miss the pro of not having the antialiasing filter instead of minimizing the effect of one like the D800E does?   I think this is the case - although I've only skimmed the article on it ...
  • "works like 85mm f3.5 on FF"

You mean in regards to bokeh only? It still F1.2 in regards to light gathering isn't it? And that is very good.

  • Replied in J4 vs V3
Ok I discovered the dpr camera comparison tool... so if I'm reading it right the only differences are; J4 is; cheaper lighter screen not tiltable (fixed) no evf option flash sync 1/60 instead of 1/250
  • Created discussions J4 vs V3
Hi I don't see a lot about the J4 here - presumably because its not being sold in the states for some reason. Without wanting to start a thread about why its not being sold in the USA and the ...
  • Great images! oh.. this is a V1..   sorry they aren't that good..  if the images were taken with the V3 they'd be awesome though.. Sorry but keep trying! :)
  • Lovely sunset...  I hope you were able to take a low ISO image on a tripod for it?   Down near the water would've made a nicer foreground too :) But surely that bad noise at ISO 400 has been made ...
  • Hmm I guess you might get in trouble posting pregnant wife shots for the community to study high ISO capabilities.. :)
  • Its not cropped apparently.. but I guess you mean the full resolution version..  yeah would be cool to see how much detail is in it...
  • Nice thanks for sharing... do you have shots at the same ISO to compare? I see the V3 was ISO 800 and the Canon ISO 320...
  • I'm interested in how technology is changing so quickly.   It doesn't seem that long ago that a D2X was a serious pro camera easily good enough for a Nat Geo centre spread! So the poll is only ...
  • I had never seen a Nikon 1 camera in the flesh before a couple of days ago when a friend with one came with me for a bit of a bird shoot at Fogg Dam.  I was really impressed with the V2 - to be ...
  • Commented on April Storm in the The Month - April challenge

No the birdy was real :) Not many people have noticed it though :)

    Thanks

  • Nice clear photos and a great record of the event. To me to make them that bit more special the subjects need to be isolated from the background a bit (not in all cases - sometimes people looking ...
  • The first image is really interesting..  both are good but I love the first one..  it makes me think about the identity of the person and their consideration of the art and its content.
  • Replied in Water-V1
I don't mind it but I reckon it could be improved. I'd prefer to see a natural image of moving water without man made bits like in this image - but thats just a person preference and isn't a ...
  • Hmm were you too harsh in your critique of my critique?   Do you like tripping old ladies too? :) Seriously though thanks for the comments... I think its a fine line between giving someone some ...

  • I thought the 1st image was pretty ordinary but love the 2nd image of the group in the rain!  That horizon just needs a little straightening... :)
