On Pentax K-3 real-world samples gallery article (150 comments in total)

For whatever reason the 18-135mm seems to out perform the 16-50mm on the K-3. At least in this small sampling of photos. Noticeably better color and contrast although that could be attributed to the lighting I suppose.

Sounds interesting but it weighs half a pound more than the Canon 24-105L 670 grams vs 885 grams (23oz vs 31oz)

Mateo Miller: So far not a big fan of "The Cloud". Don't like the idea of off site storage or access. And really don't like being forced to pay for the privilege.
Adobe does't owe me anything and I don't owe Adobe anything. I spent hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dollars on their products only having to spend hundreds and hundreds more trying to figure out how to use them.
I have CS 4 and LR3, that's enough.
If they gave you an instructional video like Deke McClelland, or Chris Orweg or a free 6 month subscription to Lynda.com then it might be worth the price. But the User Interface is so poorly designed and needless complicated I can't justify the cost.
I bet Apple is licking it's chops and Aperture will have something resembling "layers" fairly soon.

good to know.
I'm sure there are options with more to come.
If I can't figure out how to do it in CS4 then it probably doesn't need to be done.
If I were rich or pro then I suppose it wouldn't matter, but I'm a poor hobbyist.

I like manual lenses. I feel more connected while I'm shooting and they increase my shot discipline. They are lightweight and small.
The fact that they don't autofocus is of little consequence for me.

mustang_fan: Canon can't be serious. 2 minutes, 55 seconds at standard quality??? I would hate to think how long it would take to print at excellent quality let alone a whole batch of photos. Probably all day.

I think you misread the press release...

...The PIXMA PRO-1 can produce a "gallery-quality" prints in approximately 2 minutes 55 seconds...
