It's true. We only started to sell heavily into the purist 8x10 market when we reached the 80mp mark.

4x5 is actually a pretty easy mark.

It's true. We only started to sell heavily into the purist 8x10 market when we reached the 80mp mark. It's one of the areas we sold the most IQ180 units into.

We sell a healthy percentage of both FF sensors (like the IQ260, IQ180, and P65+) and 1.3 crop sensors (like this and the IQ250, P30+, P40+, IQ140 etc). It's not a deal killer for a lot of buyers...

@Shameal: We have Credo 40 kits at under $13k. DigitalTransitions.com

And yet we are selling a lot of IQ250s still.

A camera system (lenses, bodies, features, reliability, service) is a *lot* more than a sensor.

You won't see a 4x5 sensor this decade, but an Arca Swiss RM3Di or 6x9 view camera makes a great pairing with a Phase One back. Lenses/image-circles/body/back all designed for each other.

Picasso, you say "ridiculous over price manufacturer that been dominating the market"...

Many of our customers opt for kits that are <$13k and include leaf shutter lenses, better tethering,...

Wax Waine, you say Phase One gear is "overpriced".

    Have you personally used one?

Just as a quick note 645 never meant 60mm x 45mm. The film gate (the size of the actual image on the film excluding the unexposed black border around it) on most 645 cameras was about 54mm x 40mm....

Just make sure you do a shoot side-by-side to make sure you're not painting yourself into a corner. Not everyone needs fast flash sync. But for those that do the difference between 1/1600th...

@Dosdan: The Phase One P65+, IQ160, IQ180, IQ260, IQ280, and the Leaf Aptus II 12, Credo 60, and Credo 80 are all full frame medium format. The exposed area of film was never 60mm x 45mm, so we...
