About me:

We live in history. The most interesting photos to me are the ones which weren't taken
today. Today's mundane is tomorrow's priceless gem.

Canon PowerShot S90
Fujifilm X10
Canon EOS-1D Mark IV
Tiny and weighs nothing. Fuji X10 has better IQ but this one isn't bad. Great at base iso
If you want a REALLY light camera with a great lens and good in poor light, this is it. For its sensor size, it's great
Not perfect as AF I rate at 80% accurate, but then what is perfect. It's a phenomenal camera in my experience. Has now had 146,000 shots with no problem
Canon EOS-1D X
Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III
Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1
I find this to be a great camera. AF is very fast, you can set up three customised settings and it has a highlight protect feature which is invaluable.
Fab low ISO quality.
Ideal cycletouring camera. I've two, one with each zoom.
Sony Alpha NEX-7
Canon EF 100mm f/2.0 USM
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM
Fantastic sensor, detail colour DR.
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4.0L USM
Canon EF 20mm f/2.8 USM
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM
Not brilliant but you wouldn't throw it out and it's dead light.
This is phenomenally useful. Mine is sharp edge to edge wide open at all FL. Perfect for a wedding. I've dropped it three times and it's still perfect.
Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Canon EF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 II
Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM
Got this in as new condition, secondhand. Only negative is that it's heavier than the Sigma 300 it replaced. It is however a bit sharper and the AF appears a bit better. I think the Sigma had better bokeh, but overall I love this lens. It also works extremely well with Sigma APO 2x converter.
Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM
Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM
Terrific lens dead sharp wide open. Very light.
Got one secondhand in pristine condition. Really sharp at all FL, great AF.
Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM
Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM
Panasonic Lumix G 20mm F1.7 ASPH
Great lens and very sharp. AF not as quick, I think, as 70-200 but it has the extra reach and is lighter.
Panasonic Lumix G Vario 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 ASPH OIS
Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-200mm F4-5.6 OIS
Sigma 1.4x EX DG Tele Converter
This is a VERY good lens up to 150mm (=300mm). Above that it badly looses edge sharpness. I don't use it above 150
CA at edges..
Sigma 2x EX DG Tele Converter
Sony E 16mm F2.8 Pancake
Sony E 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 OSS
Surprisingly good with Canon 300 f2.8 IS L.
Sony E 50mm F1.8 OSS
Sony E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 OSS
Other gear:
  • Canon EF 28-70mm F2.8 L Old but great lens.
