Yes!!!! That is what was happening with my pics.. that's what I mean by blotches. It's like I was shooting in poster mode... almost.

added: the problem photos were outdoor and indoor with the Sony 50mm 1.8, and 30mm macro. With both lenses, some shots were incredible. With others, totally awful with the problems I mentioned...
