Thank you for the comments. I have to say, although the bunny in my pic is willd, I do have a pet bunny and as a bunny owner I loved looking at all the pics in this challenge - I truly enjoyed them all!

I just want to say this image does not deserve the four half-star votes it received. It is better than that.

This one should be the winner. I had forgotten I was in this challenge, and I wish I had remembered and voted, I would have given this 5 stars. Sorry :-(

Congratulations. I've been to many places where I've seen stuff growing out of what looked like solid rock and I think this shot does an excellent job capturing the mind-warping places that things grow. Well done!

In reply to:

Steven Sax: fantastic shot! did you have to do trial and error to light the foreground?

Thank you. Believe it or not I just hand held an external flash and set it off a few times during exposure. The key to this image was the double processing to white balance the sky and foreground separately.

Thank you guys. This was shot during the federal government shutdown and as a result the road to the lake was closed. My wife and I had to hike 6 miles one way, at high elevation with all our gear, starting out hours before sunrise. I guess the effort was worth it :-)

It's interesting to see a story about 'breaking bad' and image quality since the show itself looks like it was shot on a cheap cell phone.

On article Is Instagram 'debasing photography'? (291 comments in total)

Couldn't agree more. In a day and age when people demand the best possible image quality from a camera, they go and run them through an app that makes them look like garbage and then takes credit for taking the picture.
