Nikon D300S
Nikon AF Nikkor 180mm f/2.8D ED-IF
Nikon AF Nikkor 24mm f/2.8D
This is a better camera than I am a photographer. It's a joy to use. It's fast and responsive. Dedicated controls for all functions ensure you don't have to delve into the menus when out shooting.
Superb build quality and built-in hood. Great lens with some purple fringing on the high contrast transitions.
Super light, 35mm equiv. POV ... Unconspicuous for street work. But not stellar.
Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D
Nikon AF Nikkor 85mm f/1.8D
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR
Possibly the sharpest lens of my stable. Came from the factory full of dust ... absolutely no effect on pictures. I like that FL on DX and use that lens a lot !
Very sharp f/2.8-4. Long screw-on type hood is not very practical. If I had FX, I would shoot a 85 all the time - but on DX it's restricted to portrait use.
Versatile lens, no weaknesses. Of course it's not fast but other than that I've never been disappointed. Mine has developed some zoom creep over time.
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G ED-IF
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G
Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G VR
Tank-like lens, looks even bigger with the hood on. Amazingly I find it has less "global" contrast than my 3x cheaper 16-85, however the level of microdetail is amazing as you examine the pictures closer. This lens renders people very well. f/2.8 is almost as good as stopped down.
Very good lens especially for the price !
Very good up to 220mm, maybe softer on the tele end. But it's nice to have 300 in a pinch. VR great not only for shutter speeds but also for comfort in the viewfinder at higher FLs.
