Very nice, Mark. The G1X is a most versatile camera...high "like-ability".

That's what I do as well...much better to slightly underexpose than to suffer blown highlights. It's really annoying to take what would otherwise be a nice image and then find the highlights...

Thank you. It was a wonderful trip...great people, great places...just a lot of fun.

We recently returned from a European trip (our honeymoon, actually) and I took along my G1X (instead of lugging my T4i/650D). Here are a few samples. I will not travel without this camera. As an...

I agree that some people have nothing better to do with their meaningless lives than be an annoyance and punting them is certainly in order. However, one thing to keep in mind too is the old adage...

I think some may have a misunderstanding regarding the G1X. There is nothing on the market today that packs a near-APS C size sensor and zoom lens in such a small package. My experience has been...

Talk about blown highlights...

Here's a suggestion that may be helpful. When a thread is started and the original poster includes a photo it's identified as having a photo included. What would also be a "nice-to-have" is when...

Nice pictures...the G1X rarely disappoints. I'm just finishing a trip to Europe and will post a few images as you've done.

You are so right. I have my G1X with me on a trip to Europe and it has performed superbly. I'll post some images when I return.
If you travel, also consider a Zipshot lightweight collapsible...

Good point. It takes a little time to "make friends" with any camera. Truth be told, I'm guessing not all that many truly do this with the cameras they own before moving on to a newer model. I've...

Yes, "underwhelming" is a good word to describe Canon's latest offerings relative to the models that are being replaced. The same is true of the T5i/700D as well as no G2X. All contribute to a bit...

That makes perfect sense.

I didn't see any of these pictures that couldn't also have been easily taken by a G1X. What am I missing?

I'm currently on a trip to Europe and brought my G1X along while leaving my T4i/650d home. No regrets whatsoever. The G1X is an excellent and underrated camera...but only by those who don't own...
