Seeing that you shot this at f4.4 I'm going to assume you shot this on P mode. No wonder you gave it a silver award.
Mind your WB.
abortabort: The 300mm f4 is not the equivalent of a 600mm f4, or if you want to argue that it is (which I'm NOT here to do either way) then the Fuji 16mm f1.4 is not a 24mm f2.1. Again can't be bothered for arguing either camp however it would be good if there was some consistency. Generally DPR do equiv FL and f-ratio, which is why I'm pointing it out here.
Shoot the same scene with a FF 600mm and a300mm on a m43,you will achieve the same reach.
Do that again with a FF 300mm and a m43 300mmthe FF will not achieve the reach of that of the 300mm m43
Period. End of discussion!
Did everything you said it would make the image appear sharper, well... still very soft. And I comment on this particular image where there is no evident sudden movement.
Images are great though, congrats!
This is so stupid!
First of all, Micro Four Thirds IS NOT a cropped sensor, BUT a format of its own, read and repeat, a format of its own, just like Medium Format, just like 35mm.
The only cropped sensor is the APS-* type that uses FF lenses on a smaller sensor than that of 35mm.
Micro 4/3 lenses are made for the Micro 4/3 sensor there for NOT making it a cropped format but a FF, yes, read and repeat, FORMAT OF ITS OWN.
And please, F2 is F2 on ANY format, just like going 40mph is going 40mph no matter what you are driving or riding.
STOP misleading and confusing people.
Expandable to 409,600 ISO ... That is INSANE!
Amazing result! Congrats!
This is stupid. Please stop. I thought this was a professional review site, not a gossip "I-heard-from" non-sense trash site.
I am a believer when it come to doing things in a non-traditional way. But this "look" can be achieved with any lens, really. All you got to do is not attach the lens to the camera and move it close to the camera and take a shot. A very thin line will be in focus... every thing else is blurred. Try it.
Not going to say it is crazy creative, but it does make you think outside the box and you get a kick out of it if you are a person with patience and like trying new things.
Cipher: Wow. Looks like the GH3 is using the same sensor as the OM-D E-M5.
Wow! looks like you need some glasses. (or a better monitor)
It's pathetic how people would talk trash about one brand or the other. Don't be such idiots and be grateful that it is withing your reach to enjoy ANY camera you desire. You don't have to be loyal to one brand, don't be stupid!
Congrats to Olympus for making such a fine little machine.
This camera has better IQ than the Original 5D. ISO 25600 cleans up pretty well with the black slider in Lightroom 4. Good for small print and web viewing.
I don't expect good high ISO, I already KNOW this camera delivers at high ISO, thank you very much.
Thanks! I didn't want anything to do with Gravatar. Too much hassle.
Francis Carver: "One of the most discussed cameras of 2012????"
Wow.... 2012 must have been a very short year indeed. I thought the world was not supposed to end until sometime in November, no?
Re. the model designation.... these weirdo model numbers are getting more and more ridiculous from all mfrs. Looks like it is the lab rates themselves deciding that the thing will be called at the end.
"The highest resolu.... " BORING! Megapixels is a cliché Nikon is betting all their nickles and dimes on. Other than video, it brings nothing to the table the Nikon D700 didn't offer already, mind you, the Nikon D700 is even better looking than that ugly piece of box the D800 is. Phase One, as any other Medium Format is for an exclusive Niche of photographers, like the OM-D. Something Francis seems to ignore, hope you don't.
2 good cameras no doubt (at least that what is expected from 5D3) but quite frankly, painfully BORING. More Megapixels is BORING, no innovation, no creativity, ugly looking camera, like deformed (D800).
Yeah, let's discuss how BORING the D800 is, will the 5D3 have more megapixels? (ZZZZzzzzz)
I don't understand how this was not number one.
