Mike FL: So, K-3.2 uses same sensor as old K3. Well let's see how dated K3 sensor vs Fiji's old/lowest-end Fuji X-A1:

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/image-comparison/fullscreen?attr18=lowlight&attr13_0=pentax_k3&attr13_1=fujifilm_xa1&attr13_2=fujifilm_xt1&attr13_3=fujifilm_xe2&attr15_0=jpeg&attr15_1=jpeg&attr15_2=jpeg&attr15_3=jpeg&attr16_0=12800&attr16_1=12800&attr16_2=12800&attr16_3=12800&normalization=print&widget=75&x=0.07533055257188802&y=0.512815730723348

Not good.

Who gives a clue about Jpgs ?
If you want to compare, why not the K50 which have the same sensor & resolution than the Fuji, and it's a different story :

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/image-comparison/fullscreen?attr18=lowlight&attr13_0=pentax_k3&attr13_1=fujifilm_xa1&attr13_2=pentax_k50&attr13_3=fujifilm_xe2&attr15_0=raw&attr15_1=raw&attr15_2=raw&attr15_3=raw&attr16_0=12800&attr16_1=6400&attr16_2=6400&attr16_3=6400&normalization=print&widget=75&x=0.07533055257188802&y=0.512815730723348

AND, the K50 is 12bits only, the K5IIs with a 14bits output will give better results.

In fact, you can compare any 16 Vs 24 Mpxl camera, you'll have the same results you show, it's clueless.

RichRMA: Your choices:
This camera or:
The latest Nikon DSLR with whatever QC problem it had this time.
The latest Canon with sensor tech from 5 years ago.
The latest Pentax, the K3 is a good one, but limited lens group.
The latest Olympus, you need to like m4/3.
The latest Fuji, mushy as the images are due to excessive noise reduction.
The latest Panasonic, if video is your main goal.
The latest Sigma, well, Foveon...
The Sony DSLRs, hybrids, mirror-less. Good choices

"The latest Pentax, the K3 is a good one, but limited lens group."
the Pentax APS-c dedicated lenses line-up is bigger than Canikon, sony, Samsung...

Juck: They got IBIS tech,, the only thing of value in this old girl,, bailed,,, made a profit,, and still have enough shares for a seat on the board. Nice.

"I never said it was identical,,, just that they got the tech from Olympus,, which they did. Fin."
There is no proof about that.

Mateus1: Anybody knows its AF sensitivity? Is it poor 0EV or goes to -3EV or -4EV like Panasonic cams? Olympus hides this information, do not know why - maybe it's only 0EV?

Yep, -2EV :

Ok, now i've found the info :

"he system managed to focus down to -2EV (as long as there was something to focus on) even without the use of the focus assist lamp.".

"There is.
The AF EV is -3 (or -4)."
HAve you a source about that ? I try to verify your information, but i can't find nowhere than the AF sensitivity goes to -3EV.
At this time, only Canon 6D & 7Dmk2, Pentax 645Z, K5II, K3 & KS2, Panasonic GH4 & Sony A7S have that feature.

samhain: If Ricoh would re-hire Jun Hirakawa to design new Pentax FF lenses...
I could honestly see Pentax being a serious competitor to Canon/Nikon.

Imo- Dslr bodies come & go. But the lenses- that's what makes all the difference.
Innovation will move a brand up the food chain. Fast, unique, well made glass will keep em there.

He works for Tamron now :

GabrielZ: It seems to me now, that all those camera manufactures that incorporate in-body IS will be going the sensor shift way soon, as a way of adding value and improving the image quality/colour/sharpness of their cameras.

I'm a Pentax user, but i'm pretty sure than Canikon could implant that kind of tech if the market goes this way. No need for a heavy IS/SR system, only a slighty translation of the sensor (or the bayer filter) is necessery to have a gain on resolution (à la Hasselblad) or color depht..

Couscousdelight: I don't care how good that lens will be, i'll never buy a sigma lens again...
They refuse to take in charge my U.G.A. lens which is under warranty, they claim than i've chocked that lens.
Problem is, i've never shocked it, and that piece of crap has broke when it was mount on my DSLR : the rear optical block from the lens detach itself and falls on my reflex's mirror.
go to hell sigma.

(...)If that lens had a production defect so abd "the end just fell off on its own", it would have done so looong before you ever got your hands on the lens. In shipping and transport.
It just happening on its own sounds like a typical bull excuse story.(...)
This is just great !

Hello Lt Colombo,
So, you're building your own little theories about what really should append, (hey of course, a lens can't broke during camera operation), and claim in public than i'm a liar.

thank you :)

white shadow: Finally, Ricoh is moving in the right direction making a full frame camera. Making a high quality full frame 70-200mm f/2.8 lens is a good indication they are serious. Let's hope they won't take too long to make it happen.

Ricoh has a tradition of making very photographer-centric cameras like the Ricoh GR. Let's hope this new entry would give Canikon a run for their money.

AlexisH :
That's the point of view of a occidental. They are new markets to engage for Pentax, China, Brazil, southwest Asia...
Just for China, there is potentialy more customers than US+Europe+ Japan + OZ/NZ !
B.T.W., Ricoh make profit with their camera division..., not like Panasonic of sony...

Petroglyph: The new lenses are built to cover slightly more than FF image circle to allow all the things Pentax does with sensor shift. Astute observation DPR. Let's see that would be IBIS, pitch/roll stabilization, astro-tracker, scene recomposition, AA simulator, sensor-shift high resolution (someday probably not this year).

I'm curious to know if Sony prepare their E-mount lenses for the body stabilization form the 17ii.
IF not, it could increase vignetting in specifical situations.
