I hate small touchscreen cameras.

The Maserati of cameras is on the way. How come Fuji gets it? And the others are putting out Chinese made plastic mediocre stuff?

Canon could be on the top of the game with one simple move: use AAs in cameras like this one.

I've looked at these cameras at Best Buy today and I can almost guarantee that the white finish will start to chip off before the warranty expires.

Does anyone know when it ships to retailers in the US? It would be nice to buy one for Christmas, and an X10 for the wifey, so I can have both! :-)

sderdiarian: Olympus Imaging has been stunted for a long time now, and not by the Yakuza but by poor product decisions. When others went to video and 3" hi-res LCD's in their DSLR's, Olumpus introduced the E-30/E-620 sans both. As others upped sensor design for broader DR/higher ISO capabilities, Olympus stubbornly stuck with an inherently noisy older design. And now, as large displays have become common even in compacts and especially cellphones, the new E-PM/E-PL3 retreat to a 2.4" usable area display.

I love their lenses, their JPEG colors and IBIS which should be in every camera. But they always manage to trip themselves up. Nothing to do with Yakuza or shady investment schemes, just bad product planning. This is why they need new management to rescue Imaging.

As for Woodford, he simply did what any person in his position should, saw potentially criminal activity and brought in the authorities. Don't shoot the messenger.

Excellent thoughts...

I am just so greatful that Fujifilm has the vision to bring back awesomeness and excitement to photography. Many young photographers don't even know what it means to have the reliability and quality of a Made in Japan camera, with the new Fuji line they will hopefully learn. One thing for sure I am in line for one of these.

Not I. I am buying the Fujifilm x10 for the single reason, it is Made in Japan. Until Nikon starts manufacturing in Japan again I am not interested.

For me: PERFECT! I'll buy this camera because it's the perfect combination of image quality, looks, price, and Made in Japan built quality. I feel like I am back in the 80s when all my old equipment was as exciting as this one. Fujifilm is FANTASTIC!

beautiful camera, so is the X100. Made in Japan quality, as it should be from a Japanese camera maker. Like Ray-Ban and Levi's should be American made. Fuji is on the right track to reclaim its long lost market share on the top. I'll buy the X10 for sure.
