Where is the forest?
Who is this "Chris"?
a beatiful and well executed composition, and well apreciated.my own "the scream" was apreciated by very few including your kind note.thanksfotoselect
Thank you for the encouragement
Hi Barb_s, thanks, the pic was taken in a small restaurant in Barceloneta . I just added some vignetting to it.
Almost Perfect !A pity there is no sparkle un the eyes.
more previous comments:By santamonica812 (2 days ago)I had a slightly different reaction that BettyH. I liked the shadow lines. Without them, I think it would be a perfect nice, but unremarkable, photo of a bird. But the shadows added visual interest to me.I suspect that you'll be getting lots of comments on both sides of this. :-)Ideally, I'd like to see all the highlight details in those feathers. Was the RAW file overexposed to an extent to where all those details were lost? If not, I would suggest adding them back to the finished image.By bettyhilda (2 days ago)This is nice but I found the shadow lines a bit distracting on the bird. It's a bit of a tight crop but nice against the dark background
The improved version.more background around the subject, more details of the white feathers and a slightly bigger orange foot on the right of the pic.previous comments:By CalBoy87 (19 hours ago)Very nice shot, hard to get white details and keep the shadows, but somehow you managed both. My only problem with it, is lack of room, is very tied, I would give this bird some more roomBy MarioSS (1 day ago)Very good composition and image sharpness. Good colour balance. Interesting shadows. Enough details in the highlights. Personally, I would have like to see a little more of the orange colour on the lower right side of the bird to better balance the image. Nice image, A+By Melodyac (1 day ago)I agree about adding more detail/highlights in the feathers if the whites weren't blown. It looks like its highly cropped, so not sure if you have those details available. Also, if cropped, I may like to see a little larger on the bottom and right to see the rest of its foot under water.
snow, white and simply to the point - but not colorful.
i love it!
snow and winter are really the subject of this challenge. the pic manages to transfer to us the feeling of nature in white.
i like the balance in the pic but would prefer a bit more details and interest in the background.it really manages to give afeeling of a cold winter.
a very interesting and beatiful idea, it would help, as mentioned by others, to have the red berries brighteri would prefer to move the red berries a little to the left to get the preferable result of 1/3 composition.
beatiful pic and lovely colors
i agree with most comments. it's a beatiful pic but hardly any white there.
there is a lot of potential in this idea but, in my opinion , the red rose should be in a larger size, including more details of the flower, otherwise it's not very interesting.the way i understood the challenge, the white color should be of the subject itself and not in the artifially made background
Steve Throndson: Excellent photo, and just right for the challenge. Congratulations on your first place finish!
hi, steve, thanks for the encouragement.
Bird drinking from a fountain - is it acceptable ?
A square format, elimineting the red distraction, will improve this colorful, sharp pic.
Most of the roses in this callenge are frontal.I prefer the more original - profile.
