HowaboutRAW: Well I guess it’s good to be reminded that helicopters get a lot of use in war zones and have a lot to do with supporting the fight–but why those warzones exist in 2015 is a problem.

Then it’s a well enough composed image, but Hollywood has used things very similar again and again.

It’s also an image newspapers use to portray the action of battle, or escape from danger, since it is a transport helicopter.

(It’s possible an Air National Guard helicopter is involved fighting a forest fire here. But it sure looks like a warzone. And I can’t really think of a war that the US has any business being involved in in 2015.)

yes that is the case Yeovilton Air Day

On High Quality: Motion Blur challenge (12 comments in total)

I notice that a lot of entries are panning shots which actually set out to reduce motion blur. The blur is in fact on the static part of the image. Are these acceptable

I love all these comments and the way they show that for every person you please you upset another. I don't often feel sorry for politicians but they have this problem every day.

A couple of points of my own.
What's all the fuss about flat and threaded I use both in different circumstances and the default is whatever I left it as
The one thing I miss compared to other forums is a count of how many readers , not just repliers. It puts a lot of perspective around the importance of the subject to the general reader.

I gave you 5 stars, it is a superb picture and a superb bird image. I'll never understand how other people don't see how good some of these shots yet in my view cast their votes for far lower quality
