On Epson announces VS220 and VS320 budget projectors article (24 comments in total)

HubertChen: A quick search for Projectors on newegg reveals that the best selling model is about the same price as the VS320, but deliver 720p. Now lets compare resolution by the numbers:
720p = 1280 x 720 = 0.92 Mega Pixel
XGA = 1024 x 768 = 0.79 Mega Pixel

Not an awful difference on paper. I have a projector. Once you gone through the pain of mounting and re-arranging your room, you will want to watch movies too. Movies are 16:9.

Lets do the math again on useful pixels for 16:9
720p = 0.92 Mega Pixel
XGA: = 0.59 Mega Pixel -> 64 % of useful pixels of 720p
References: 1024 / 16 * 9 = 576 vertical pixels. 1024 * 576 = 0.59 Mega Pixel

Dpreview: Why did you presented this projector out of the blue?

On Sony NEX-6 Hands-on Preview preview (229 comments in total)

elranero: The deal-maker for me, with the Sony NEX series, was the 24meg sensor of the NEX-7. If I wanted a smaller sensor - in megapixels - I would go perhaps Olympus OM D-5, or just stay with my Pentax K5. I don't see any 'have to have" improvements in the NEX-6 that interests me. When everything is said and done, it all comes down to the glass, and not matter which Sony NEX series body, they are still lacking a variety of superior lenses.

Gold Award Pentax K5 user here too. I'm very interested to see the next Pentax K-0 series camera. With Ricoh's support they may score a Gold by the K-02, or more likely K-03 as they will be gunning hopefully for the OMD 5. Im encouraged by the K-01 as a good start to the mirrorless Pentax that is compatible with the k-mount primes.

AngryCorgi: It's a WR K-01 with a pentaprism, higher max shutter speed, better ergonomics, and faster PD AF for only a $100 premium. So how are they going to sell any K-01s now? Or have they given up on that failed experiment in hideous design??

The K01 announces that Pentax is jumping into the Compact Mirrorless dslr market and, as expected, they need a couple production models to catch up with the competition. Im anxious to see what K02, or 03 become as they inherit K30 technology. A competitor to the Oly M5, but with an aps-c sensor. What about the coming Samsung NX310, Sony NEX9.
Because the K01 is woefully behind the competition it was smart to employ a famous designer. Although it doesn't appeal to me, I've hoped, and am glad for the K01... and K30
