"With the EOS 700D/Rebel T5i, Canon's made an early move to replace last year's 650D/Rebel T4i, though one with only very minor refinements..."

Shocker! A Rebel camera virtually identical to its...

  • On a different note, I kind of like the overall look of the site. However, you guys should really get rid of those ridiculous "save $1.99" or "save up to $0.95" (I kid you not, up to $0.95)...
  • Well, I imagine you wouldn't do that anyway, would you? Like you say, it'd just be too obvious given your mostly knowledgeable readership. But what about giving a nudge to a camera that would have...
  • I never said otherwise. My point is Leica would not associate the brand with anything other than a stellar lens. And your initial statement sounded dismissive to me as to its quality and...
  • That may be so, but you don't seriously think Leica would allow for their brand to be put on a shitty lens. This lens has been recognized as stunning since the LX3was released ages ago. I think the...

You already got some helpful advice in the thread, but still sound to me like you are kind of satisfied with your photos. My way of being helpful is telling you that they are not good enough.. Look...

I'm not an "expert" either, but have to agree with most of what you say. Other than the 1st photo and maybe a couple others, this series is pretty mediocre. Poorly framed , composed and exposed. I...

The GR looks pretty nice, very interesting camera.

  • Seriously, don't, at least with the original K5. At f2.8 in low light that combo is almost guaranteed to let you down in terms of focussing accuracy. It will front-focus, or back-focus, and no AF...
  • I assume f/2.8 must come in handy for weddings, but good luck making your K5 focus accurately in dim artificial light at that aperture, particularly with the 17-50 Tamron!
  • I don't know about the II and IIs, but as far as the K5 goes, Pentax still have a lot of work to do with AF-S accuracy (in low-light, as well as in good light due to the gigantic size of AF points...
  • "...the lenses seem really expensive and for what? Inherently less picture quality!".
That is simply wrong. m43 have some of the finest lenses around, all systems considered.

  • Probably because these criteria are extremely counter-intuitive

  • A slight bump to saturation in LR takes a few seconds, and you can apply it to as many images as you like at the same time. Or you can define your own import settings and apply it automatically....

  • So, same overall score in lab tests. Fine.
In my experience, the 6D is far cleaner and more detailed starting at ISO 3200, and AF accuracy is miles better. I stand by what I said, having actually...

  • Same here, coming from a K-5.
  • The K5 is an APS-C camera, so not in the same class, I suppose

  • You probably shouldn't. I have both and the 6D cleans the floor with the K5 both in AF accuracy and high ISO. And that's even considering the K5 is a high ISO beast and a great all-round camera....
