barb_s: Congratulations. Color challenges are a challenge in themselves with no real theme - Love the focus on this as well! Nice job
Thanks so much Barb and also for hosting these great challenges.
Robert Kempen: fantastic shot
Thank you Robert
Wow, this is a fabulous shot and I am one of the 5 who gave you a 5! Jen
Beautiful image. Congratulations. Jen
Tan68: I notice the picture was taken a few years ago. I hope your happy puppy is doing well.
Ha ha - I like your options particularly the last one - very clever!
It was taken on a trip to South America. I spotted this little fella in someone's doorway, so grabbed a couple of shots. So, not my dog.
Great shot Megan, I gave this a 5. Jen
bladerunner6: This is an absolutely fabulous shot. It is really a combination of a pet portrait and an action shot. And it definitely creates an emotional response. I showed it to my wife and she understood instantly why it won this challenge.
I am also impressed that you take great photos with any camera. And that you have way more challenge entries than postings. These things show that you are a great photographer that is serious about their craft.
Kudos to you in every way!
Thank you so much bladerunner6. Now I am embarrassed because this was more a lucky shot than anything else and also luckily fitted in with this challenge. (If you only knew the rubbish I also take - gulp!)
Windancer: Great shot........
Thank you Windancer.
Thank you papa, he was so cute and I was a bit lucky with this yawn.
This is such an incredibly good shot in every way and more deserving in every way. Jen
Great shot, loved this from when you first posted it.Jen
Love this shot and voted it as No.1Jenny
christian jacob: Thank you!I shot it at a zoo (http://www.zookrefeld.de/faq.html -- I noted that in my gallery, but somehow can't change it to public at the moment), so I guess it was just de-sensitized (there were hundreds of butterflies, and most of them were not shy, seems to be depending on the species). Most of them didn't even notice the flash, only a big, blue one did. And, as this is a 1360×1700 crop of a 16mp photo, I wasn't quite that close as it seems to be.And for comfortable -- I think I tried for nearly 10 minutes to get as close as possible to this one (it felt longer), got cramps in my back and thought I was losing my eyesight (it was rather dark, and I had to manual focus -- more guess work and many tries). And the climate was tropical, while I was dressed for a german autumn...
Yep, thanks very much from me too!Jen
Love this shot - truly a picture that says a thousand words!Jen
Ditto! I don't like my 2.8 because it is fixed and doesn't zoom. This means I have to be on top of the creature. How did you manage to get so close without scaring it?Jen
Such pretty colours and lovely composition. Jen
Congratulations on a great win. How I'd love the chance to go there and photograph those beautiful trees! Jen
