This is a lovely shot and I'd love to have taken it!!
Hey, good on you, AGAIN! Great shot and deserving winner.
Perfect moody shot. Congrats.
Such a beautifully captured shot.
How pretty - how many lights must there be and imagine hanging them?!
What a great fun shot!
Congratulations Steve, I loved this from when you first posted it. The detail is extraordinary and you so deserved to win.
Love this shot and love the rich colours. I doubt I would have 'seen' it myself.
Beautiful work Bruce and worthy winner. I love the colour and the sculptured effect and how it fills the frame.
Very nice shot
aja2: omg these things give me the creeps... seriously. But it's a good shot of a scary subject - looks like he's had a snack, too. Was he being fed - like in an exhibition or show, or is this just a talented croc? :-)
Thanks aja2. Yes they were being fed and I got various shots- grab & go - with mouths wide open etc but liked this because he is so far out of the water and looks pretty happy about it! It is done in their own habitat in a huge river. I love them but then I love all creatures.
maboule123: Was he auditioning for you? This guy has potential!!
Thank you maboule123. Yeah, plenty of potential here! Not quite an audition although my husband does think he looks like he is smiling as well as dancing!
barb_s: I missed voting on this challenge... wish I had seen it earlier though, I love many of the entries. This one is such fun! Congrats on the win... this had a lot of good and varied competition.
Thank you Barb. It was great fun shooting them as well.
PhotobyCarlos: Congrats good capture. This was a really good challenge, a lot of good post, nice work
Thank you Carlos
win13: and you do the hokey pokey with your arms strached out
Good photo and title as well
Thank you so much win13, it's my first win!
pen araneae: What a marvellous camouflage. I have seen many phasmids of the stick insect kind. I have even seen leaf-mimic grasshopper but I have yet to see a phasmid that mimic leaves.
Yes, it took me awhile to work out just what was leaf and what was insect. I know there is another kind that looks like a brown dying leaf - Ruth should know it.
Everything is so right with this wonderful capture and '3rd' proves that, so I do not understand why 2 people would vote so low.
Yes, such a deserving 1st place winner and such an unusual and quite beautiful creature.
Thank you Ruth. Such an amazing creature and camouflage. I just love to photograph these and unlike so many insects they actually stay still!Jen
I think this is a great idea for learning and interaction but would loved to have seen the before and the after.
