I'm delighted to hear from you Buckshot :-). I hope you're doing well. Yes, it is sad that the number of people entering has dropped...

Is it just me or are the prices and headings mis-aligned for anyone else?
I'm using XP SP3 with a 1220+1920 monitor and IE8. Tried it 3 times now and always looks the same.
Neil.

Placed 43rd in the challenge. This is my attempt at ‘painting with light’ photography.
I taped several different plastic chocolate wrappers (two layers thick), next to each other onto a transparent plastic lid so that I could shine a light through each of them as required.
Each of the three front stones had about nine seconds of exposure to the differently filtered light.

OK Dan.

Thank you Naga :-) Yes the glass was empty. All the bits you see are either glass shards or glass 'dust'. I would be delighted to show you how I took this photo after the results of the...

Interesting photo. I can see why you left it till close to the end before entering this photo - It's not quite 'minimal post processing' is it?!

Placed 29th in the challenge. This Romanesco cauliflower is probably the best example of a natural fractal with it's logarithmic spirals.
It is naturally a vivid radioactive green tone which I felt distracted from the amazing repeated pattern, so I desaturated it slightly.

Placed 16th in the challenge. These are often called 'Spogs'.

Placed 1st in the challenge. Taken on my kitchen table. The glass was completely enclosed inside a cardboard box that I modified, to prevent harm by the flying shards. The glass was shattered using a spring powered pellet.
If anyone shows an interest, I will gladly post a link to photos and details of my setup after the results of the challenge.

Still a full day to get your comments and votes in folks :-)
Good luck all,
Neil.
