Folks are claiming the focal lenght is impractical. The same was said about the 24-35mm.

Well, I have the 24-35mm & I find using this lens quite a bit.

So to me, I am very interested in another impractical lens from Sigma !!!

Fanboyism is common among Leica users. This response is just another proof. I use Leicas to this day but I will not do a disservice to others by making such absurd claims.

I think you are undermining what others have to offer. Unmatched is an exaggeration.

Viewing recent 'sample galleries' for different lenses --- the images posted here are doing great disservice to real capabilities of these lenses. I own both Tamron's for Nikon. These lenses are very good. Again these images failed to show what these lenses are capable of.

The gallery did not impress me to run to buy one.

no longer coveted gold award I think , recently all your reviewed cameras getting gold or at least silver , why is that?

Unless a camera being reviewed is horribly bad, it will always be gold or silver. Adverstisement money perhaps ?

Or...

Perhaps all these cameras are really good.

Better to look at pros and cons of the review and use this to determine which ones are important ..

starwolfy: Just a tought for Fuji...which never recognized the sticky aperture issue with its Fuji X100.
Mine is still blocked a full aperture...and I think will remain as such for my FIRST and very LAST Fuji product that I've had and will ever buy in my all Life.

I got sucked the same with an ACER computer in the past. I will never buy an ACER product again.

I know you can face problems with any brand...but at least there are brands which recognize their mistakes and take responsibility for it. Those are the brands I prefer to invest in, despite it cost me more sometimes.

Looked @ X100 in my local store.

The demo unit the store had was in perpetual focus hunt inside the store.

Then owner suspected that the demo was just defective. So he pulled a new one.

Same results.

Never looked @ Fuji again.

In reply to:

A Schamber: Really, people???
The camera of the year could be several things: the highest IQ, the best ergonomics, the best feature set, the most comprenhensive layout, etc etc etc...
But the thing is that those things are NOT relevant when there's a game changer camera. Every now and then there comes a camera, or a line of cameras, that begin a legend of their own. Trust me... there's one on that list that actually has.
It is the Fujifilm X-PRO 1.

You may like it or not. You may like rangefinder style, or not. You may think it is overpriced, or not. But you could NEVER say it is not a camera that has made everyone think again about what's possible in photography, again.

That's the camera of the year. That's the game changer.

I agree. X-pro1 is a good camera but not worth the price. OMD wins for me hands down.

Agree with Superka. Though film definitely non mainstream, popularity of film is picking up. Local photo store can't keep in stock enough films.

Tried it at the store -- can't focus a lick inside the store, terrible jpegs even at low ISO ....... and yes the price tag of $600.00.

One of the worst $600.00 I have seen....

ybizzle, now you resort to personal insult......grow up little boy. Unlike you, I do not worship these little computers. Get a life ...

jakeb ---- buying the camera will correct the AF issue ? Tell me me how....I seriously would like to know the trick ? Will this also correct the so so performance of its jpeg ?

ybizzle....does not take much to try it on the store to find out this camera can't focus very well.....

spending an hour with this camera is all I need that this camera has issues...

excuse me if my process is quicker than yours...

unlike lots of folks....I will not buy a camera just to try it out....when I purchase one.....will keep it unless defective...

So think first before you criticize me....

ybizzle, why do you feel offended by another person's opinion on this camera ? Are you that narrow minded and not very smart ?

Do you expect everyone to love and admire what you think is good ?

Grow up boy.....you are indeed giving new meaning to 'fanboy' !!

HKR2010: Just look at the gallery shots, the beauty of each picture says it all about this camera. They are filmlike and unique to my eyes. Go to the new 650D Gallery and compare the shots.

Yes, IQ from this camera is quite superb. But then again, there are other cameras that matches IQ of X10.

But there are too many quirks for a $600.00 camera as outlined in the conclusion page of the review...

76% rating is quite generous....imho.
