If you don't have the 55-200, is there any reason to apply this update?

Thanks for the images. The D800E is clearly better, but not by much. I shot the D800E with a 14-24 at 21mm and the XE-1 with the 14mm a few days ago. Both on tripod and remote release. I printed...

I stated in the original post that the issue had little gravity. Small talk. No problem.
And I assumed, the first time I saw it, that someone meant XE1 but had mistyped it XP1.
-
Maybe it is just me, but lately people have started to abbreviate the X-Pro1 to XP1 or XP-1. It is only two extra keystrokes. Is it really necessary to abbreviate?
The X-Series cameras are already...

Is this definitely true? Any evidence?
If I blow highlights at f1.4 1/2000 ISO 100 (RAW and jpg). Are they also blown at f1.4 1/2000 ISO 50 (RAW or jpg)?
If my shadows are gone (non-recoverable...

True. Good suggestion. Easy and one additional step.
Tried it. Not bad at all. Much easier to focus.

I usually shoot RAW + JPG anyway, but this would mean that using this idea for focusing in liveview (set contrast and sharpness to maximum) my JPGs will be worthless. I am not complaining, just...
-
Huh? Do you mean set the JPG sharpness and contrast to maximum? Focus, then set back to normal levels? Or just capture RAW file? Or is there a separate control for sharpness and contrast for the LCD?

Ink vs Silver - Durability? I am not talking about behind a glass in a dark room.
I accidentally got some spray mount adhesive on a b&w print the other day. Took some nail polish remover on a...

I wouldn't want to put samples here, as they were shot with a Nikon and I know how touchy these forums can be.
If you don't mind going to the dark side here is the thread link:...

OK. That is how I have been trying to do it. It just seems a bit inaccurate. 100% LV on the D800E is one of it's major misgivings. Maybe the CamRanger is better? What does a 100% view on the iPad...

I have set all of these images to Creative Commons licensing. This should allow you to view tham at full size.

I just checked the 100% "loupe" view on DP review and it terrible.
Just go to Flickr and look at the "Original" "full size" images if you are interested.

For comparison. A 14mm from the 14-24mm.

Ooops. I went back and looked. You are 100% correct. So sorry. The bottom of the three was just more cement. This is a TWO SHOT vertical pano. Top shot is fully shifted (12mm).
f11 is a good...

I bought one for my D800E and I am sharing my images and feeling of using it over on the Nikon forum.
Check it out if you like.

I shot some inside a temple. Also shot the 14-24mm at 14mm at the same aperture for a comparison.
I shot some bells hanging in a line. Full tilt. Will post soon.
After session shooting it, the...
