  • Looks good. I think you're right about the halos not being noticeable on canvas.
  • Thanks to both of you for looking!
  • I'm willing to look, but you need to post the file...

Sean Bagshaw's videos on the TK Panel are also very good. See: http://www.outdoorexposurephoto.com/video-tutorials/the-complete-guide-to-luminosity-masks-tony-kuypers
  • Thanks.  I'll keep this in mind should I decide to start using DxO for more of my images. At the moment, I'm using Lightroom to get the tonality in the right ballpark and then finish the image in ...
  • Replied in Final Verdict
I haven't looked at Jimmy McIntyre's actions yet. I use Tony Kuyper's panel for just about every image that I work on in Photoshop. I'll frequently use a curves adjustment layer using a Mid-tone ...

I wouldn't redo the image from scratch. In photoshop, I'd burn along the edges where you see a halo using a Lights 2 or Lights 3 luminosity selection. (That's just a guess based upon what I see. ...
  • Yes, it's likely that I did use Prime NR when I've used it. I typically (though rarely) invoke DxO via the Lightroom plugin. I seem to recall waiting for at least a minute to get back to Lightroom ...

  • The minimum focus distance is 5cm at the wide end of the lens. You are correct about her eye being out of focus. She was very curious about the camera and the light and was moving towards me when I ...
  • I used to do all of my post-processing on Linux.  For a long while, I used ufraw and gimp. I was using RawTherapee when I switched over to processing using Lightroom and Photoshop. The two ...
  • Thanks! Yes, the weather has been nice here. Summer gets a bit toasty though.
  • Created discussions Freckles, the Cat
This is one of our cats, named Freckles (because of the spots on her face).  Yes, they're bigger than freckles are on people, but when she was a kitten those spots helped us to distinguish her ...
  • Harvey mentioned that I hadn't been posting as much lately.  It's taken some time for me to become proficient enough with the workflow that I'm using to want to post anything.  I still have a lot ...
  • I have LR 5.7 and DxO Optics Pro 9.  DxO is incredibly slow.  LR is quite fast.  DxO is so slow that I consider it to be pretty much unusable. I built my machine in 2013.  It's a Core i7-4771 with ...

What if the trash can (or whatever else some might consider garbage) is the point of the photo? I agree with the others. Clone / heal is the way to go.  Sometimes content aware fill works okay too.
