One of the women on the balcony appears to be eating something and this is repeated by another figure in the background. Doubling the number of subjects from foreground to background is another nice touch. Excellent composition with the repeating arches. Well done!
What don't I understand? You say that the lens has "an F2.8 maximum aperture across the entire zoom range". The front of the lens is marked "1:2.8/4.5-108".
