Well LR does not have DLO which enables you to get the most out of your Canon lenses by applying corrections based on mathematical models derived from the original lens design. It seems very few...

Was in Rome last month. Queued for the Vatican for over 3 hours and by the time we got inside had lost the will to live so really weren't able to enjoy it. Many people (particularly it seemed...

Fundamentally it's possible to split 'photographers' into two distinct camps (and I totally accept that there are many exceptions to this). First, those that get pleasure from mastering all the...

Unfortunately your attempt at humour, if that's what it was, just comes across as rather sarcastic and nasty. Tommy was making a perfectly reasonable comment and it's quite possible he doesn't...

Finally! Someone who engaged their brian before they allowed their fingers near the keyboard.

Not that I expect Canon or Nikon to diasappear but most of those lenses have been sitting unused in cupboards or lofts for years. And Grandpa is getting on a bit so he won't be using his for much...

As all the respondents to this thread are probably camera enthusiasts, or they wouldn't be in a DPR forum in the first place, most of the arguments in this thread are likely to be based on what...

I appreciate you didn't ask me this question and Peter's well thought out reply has probably answered your question in any case. But since I have an EOS M for exactly the reasons you described - a...

Well, try Including a bright highlight (sun?) in the scene and then compare them again. Still not much difference?

I think you're assuming everybody else's views should be the same as yours. Many people do find post processing fun but it's certainly not for everyone. In my dealings with various professional...

Do we therefore gather that you do not like the EOS M very much? I wonder why you bought it? Did you not at least research it a little or even handle it first?
There are minimal...

Both lenses are actually only 70mm at infinity. As you focus closer there will be a change in focal length and this will vary according to whether the lens is a wide angle or a telephoto zoom. ...

Of course, but an APS-C lens's image circle would not cover the FF format.
I don't disagree that's why Pentax made it for APS-C but if we're comparing it with the Canon 40mm we're not comparing...

I guess it would be, especially if you are using a finger on your left hand. You could try holding the camera upside down.
:-D

Yes you are correct Anders, however the Pentax 21mm f/3.2 is only for APS-C sensors, so in 35mm or FF equivalent it is really about 33mm. I should of course have clarified that I was talking about...

Spot - likely to be too narrow (2-3 degrees) to be able to keep your subject in the metering zone and will be highly influenced by light / dark subject and also to a certain extent by the colour of...

I wonder if perhaps you need something that cuts off the infra red at a longer wavelength to prevent visible light turning the image blue. Hoya make an RM90 which only passes IR longer than 900nm...

Actually the best RAW converter is probably DPP in terms of colour accuracy and for access to the Digital Lens Optimizer (DLO) feature. See this link for more info on DLO - but none of the other...

DPP (later versions) do have a cloning tool - it's called 'Stamp Tool' and you'll find it under the Tools Menu. If yours doesn't have this it would be worth downloading the free update from Canon.

Perhaps of some help?
