Shutter shock in mirrorless is definitely more prevalent due to the double pumping of the shutter. It is reduced on my GH3 when shooting in high speed burst mode as every image after the first one...

John Driggers commented on the shutter shock with his V1 on the 2nd page of the comments in this link.

I have the same problem and wish Panasonic would introduce a minimum shutter speed option with Aperture priority. On my GH3 have have set 2 custom modes for bird photography. One is set for...

And it seems like the Global shutter is no longer on the radar. The double pump action of mirrorless shutters is the main culprit and I don't see a permanent solution for years to come.
-
Yes, that has happened to me a few times.

That is why we should always ignore the scoring and look at the lens graphs. The same goes for the sensor scores. Other sites don't have a lens scoring system so you are forced to look at their...

IBIS is not the main issue. Both Panasonic and Olympus bodies share this issue equally.
-
All prior m43 bodies had the issue as well and nothing was said in a review until now.
-
I agree. When I shoot continuously I can see issues with most of the images even though I am holding down the button. Only the electronic shutter is able to solve the issue.
-
"shutter shock" is a problem with all mirrorless cameras. Smaller body is part of the problem but also due to the shutter requiring a close/open to start the exposure and then another close/open...

From what I have seen the 70D is slower than the GH3 when focusing with video but the GH3 does more pumping to keep focus. Also keep in mind you need to use the new Canon STM lenses for smooth...

Except that the equivalent focal length for say the 300mm f2.8 is actually 450mm on the D7100. So while the resolution is almost the same, you end up having a narrower FOV with the D7100. So the...
-
You are forgetting one thing. The DX will give you a narrower FOV when compared with FF using the same lens, due to the crop sensor. So for the longer lenses where FX lenses are used on both...

Though Photo Ninja does allow more Moire to show through.

Looks like all lenses will benefit with the better lenses gaining the most and widening the gap with the cheaper...

This is the first time Olympus has not passed on new sensor technology to lower end models.

It won't be a global shutter but if they can improve the read-out speed to 1/60s like the Nikon J1 then it may be good enough for most situations. At least shutter shock won't be an issue with...
-
I am curious to see if Panasonic has improved the electronic shutter in the new GM1, since they have completely removed the focal plane shutter.
-
Even 1/60s might be good enough if your moving subjects don't take up the full height of the sensor.
The only way it could be made thinner is if the protruding lens mount contracts into the camera...
