On Cryin' in the rain in the Don't Be Shy: Flowers Which Hang Their Heads challenge (2 comments in total)
In reply to:

RuthC: Congratulations, valenttin, on achieving fourth place in this challenge. This is a beautiful capture of these fuchsias 'dancing in the rain'. I really like the colours here, with the bright flowers against the soft focus of the background. Ruth :-)

Thanks! I remember there was a stormy day, so I can call this a lucky shot. And for your contests too...

Can you change a little the rules? Or is too late? One more point in Additional rules, please: "No photos from City of Rome - Italy I". Gracias!

Taungk: How about just one painter? Or should it be painters?

The "s" at the end of the word "painters" tell us that the pictures in contest must contain at least two of the kind of workers we talking about. We'll see...

In reply to:

HubertChen: Great shot. I find myself in churches frequently and since 30 years I wonder how to capture the feeling in a single shot. This is the first picture ever I have seen to have accomplished this. At least for me.

Looking at this picture leaves me with the same feeling as standing in the middle of the isle facing to the front and then let my view flow to the ceiling and all the way back to the door.

It is like I am there.

Thanks so much for this great picture and for the inspiration on how in the future I can capture the spirit of a church with my shots!

Also impressed with the overall tonality and how the blown out highlights are rendered very nicely. Great lens, great photographer and great PP!

Thank you! Thank you so much for understanding the meaning of an image...

In reply to:

Kaushik Ghose: This is a very striking photo! It changes the straight architectural edges to a very organic curvy, spidery form. At first I thought it was a crustacean of some sort.

I was a little disappointed to learn that it is a composite and not a single shot. I was trying to figure out how you could get a fisheye effect at one end and not the other! The fact that it is not a single shot and has a lot of computer based post-processing leaves me a bit on the fence about if this is great photography AND great art, or great art and regular photography.

Again, very artistic and evocative: well done again!

Thank you!
