To go to Photoshop CC today from CS5.5 is only 12.29 euro then goes to 24 in a year.   36 is for full suite temp upgrade price from CS3 or later to full suite. Single app in that case is only 12.29...

Full suite is 62 euro's per month. Way way cheaper than full suite upgrade in the past. Single app is 24.59 euro's not 36. Still more expensive but not as bad as your thought

If your bottom fell out, one option might be a short term LR conversion. That would keep many on their feet without much problem

Thought about that but you also get "3D", cloud storage, and an online portfolio. You also get more timely updates and/or new features added as they become available vs when a new version comes...
