I agree. I wanted to write "Try to replicate the mood and the style (the photographic language) of any of the great photographers" but I didn't because it's something impossible.

Here http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/51432456 you said:
"Put Ansell Adams in front of a camera take a shot then put a camera tripod in the same spot and I could come along and press the button...

I didn't forget him. I intentionally leaved him out of the list.
You are contradicting yourself. You said that photography is very easy because all you have to do is to push a button and that...

You are confused by the fact that a photograph can be made very easy by just pushing a button.
The mental exercise of a person unrelated to photography that could make an Ansel Adams picture by...

The image will not be the same because the exposure it's not the same. The FF collects double the light in your example and it will potentially have more motion blur due to slower shutter...

Can you give an example about the setting that you will use in DX vs the FX (Shutter speed, aperture, ISO) with the two lenses (18-35 DX vs 24-70 FX)?
-
No. You will use same shutter speed but higher ISO for the FF.
-
With the D600 the light that you loose from the 2.8 aperture ratio instead of the 1.8 you gain it back again from the larger light collecting area of the FF sensor. So it's a tie.
No. Read above....

@Photato and Plastek: Entry level FF doesn't mean entry level DSLR. I compared a camera at $1900 with a camera at $1500. Where is the difficult part?

Because Thom's article you mention in your post criticize Nikon for not providing such a lens. I try to understand why Nikon doesn't provide such a lens.
Because D7100 and D600 have many many...

@Photato: I am not trying to say something negative about the Sigma lens. I welcome it. It makes a lot of sense for the Sigma DSLRs and for owners of DX/APSC cameras. It's another option which is...

I am thinking about it. If there was actually a Nikkor 18-35 f/1.8 DX lens what the cost would be in your opinion? And if I was to choose between this imaginary lens on a D7100 and a 24-70 f/2.8 on...

Canon 6D with 24-70 f/2.8 II is actually lighter at 1575 gr than 7D with the Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 at 1670 gr (weight data reported by camerasize.com): http://j.mp/ZupnKF

@BJN: That is exactly my point also. I do not see a worthy size-weight advantage for the Sigma lens.

Here it is on a D7100 next to 24-70 f/2.8 on a D600. Thanks to camerasize.com :). http://j.mp/17IVcmm

Bigger size is a benefit for me. The drawback is the weight (after 2-3 hours of continuous shooting) and the cost (but the equipment can be rented for the assignment). Olympus 12mm is a fixed 24mm...
