This post has value to me. I never use a lens hood, and have never really thought about it, but looking at all the overwhelming positive responses, I will give it a go and hopefully my pictures...

Hi,I've got a D600 and have never owned a VR lens. Sorry for the basic question, but if VR is switched on, does the shutter speed automatically adjust to suit? I.e if on aperture priority, will the...

I'm going on a diving trip up to Cairns, and rather than renting an underwater camera, I was thinking of using my IXUS 95 IS and buying an underwater housing. Has anyone used a canon underwater...

I use 50mm 1.8D on my D600 80% of the time. I love it. Perfect for out and about portraits of young kids. Tried different things but always come back to it. Light weight and reliable. Other than...

Keep the 50mm. I found it perfect for baby shots and toddlers. You can get nice and close for close ups.

Not sure what the V2 stands for, but I recently got the new version of this lens for my D600, and I love it.
There are some threads in the Nikon Lens forum..
Cheers.

I bought a new Nikon 80-200/2.8 ED AFD for my D600 a couple of weeks ago. I've been blown away how good it is, exceeding all my expectations. Heavy yes, but a pleasure to use. Got some great high...

Mine seems to have calmed down after about 1000 shots, so will take it to service center for clean shortly.

Point taken, but I didn't have to clean my D80 for 5 years with no problems. Here I've only taken 100 shots, never changed the lens, and the sensor is covered in round black spots, so it's just a...

Great photo. This is my next lens and I'll be looking for this type of shot. This gives me more confidence to go and buy this lens, thanks for posting. Was going to order the lens today but first...

Thanks for all the advice.I've written to Nikon to see if I get any response regarding the oil issue. Not holding my breath. The plan is to take a few more shots, and when it stops getting more...

Looks like I've been blighted by this oil on sensor issue on my new D600. Gutted. Is there any info on the web about how to clean the sensor?I've never done it before, and never had to do it on my...

I just moved from D80 to D600.Love it. The picture quality is so much better with much less (hardly any) noise at higher ISO. I've only got a 50mm lens, but that's all I really shot on the D80...
