These are Great! Nice and sharp.  Exposures couldn't be better.

+1  "This is the type of shot that keeps me quite content with my current gear."  I love mine as well. Won't upgrade till this one fails (D7000). We live in such a "disposable society".

Timing is everything.  Love the mockingbirds.  I guess there's not much that scares them.

The last in the series is a keeper :-)

WOW.  I'd be giddy if I could get that close.   I got the 70-300 for my D7000 this past Christmas.  Still trying to improve my technique when fully extended at 300mm.  I get a lot of camera shake,...

Found this one in park near my house.  He was pre-occupied with his feathers, allowing me to get fairly close.   Very, very nice .... how close were you ?

Would like a "middle of the road" filter for my current lenses (Nikon 18-105, 85 1.8G & 70-300G).  Not interested  or need a pro grade version.  Planning a trip to the coast next month and wanted...
