Look at it this way. SL-1 has adequate features and is small enough to be an alternative for people who are interested in OM-D/EM-5. But not D-3200.

1000D/XS is smaller in features, not size.

By just being a tad small, the attention SL1/100D gets is enormous. It is amazing how a simple concept can do. Even this Nikon guy, Thom Hogan, challenges Nikon to downsize D3200. I guess OM-D/EM-5...

It is not the question of whether 18MP is good enough but that Canon is lagging behind Nikon in the sensor department. A few years ago, Nikon was citing similar argument when Canon was ahead. :)

If the leak specification of EOS-B and T5i are true, Rebel line stays at 18MP again. What a letdown.

Let's see. Three generations of 18mp sensor in the Rebel line (T2i, T3i and T4i). I would not be surprised if Canon comes up with the same size sensor in 60D's replacement.

Shooting in the Av mode gives one total control too, and faster in my opinion. In most situations one doesn't need to have a specific aperture and shutter speed at the same time.

You seem to have a lot of confidence on a rumored camera. However, I agree with you that the lens should be the deciding factor.

60D's initial price was $1099, which was $100 less than better spec'ed D7000. Nikon prices D7100 the same as D7000. I predict 70D coming at $1099, knowing Canon.

There is no IQ difference from the in-camera 1.3x crop mode or capure a FF and then crop it in PP if you shoot RAW. It is a different story if you shoot jpeg. Nikon already has the firmware code in...
