Thanks, Peter. With the difference in light and dark areas over your image, I would not have guessed your lighting was that simple. Did you do the calligraphy?
My lighting was similar. I have a room with panels of full length windows on three sides and some sky lights in the ceiling. It works well to take such shots with available light. That's how I shot this one. The room has a white ceiling, so at times I'll bounce a speedlight off the ceiling or a reflector to one side if I want more light or more directional light.
Thanks, Peter. Congratulations on winning the challenge with a superb photo. If you don't mind, please share with me the lighting you used. Thanks.
Superb! One of the best winners in quite some time. Congrats!
Thanks to all. This was early one morning last summer. It was from the roof of our hotel in Halifax. I went up just to see if there was anything worth shooting. It was clear before dawn, but I could see a fog bank rolling in from the north. Just a it got light enough to start to see well, the fog started across the harbor. Fortunately the boat got into position for a good photo and I shot this.
Thanks! Please come back during the voting phase; I'd love to win the challenge.
Eyefull Tour: Awesome!
